Altinkum in Turkey

Anybody been?

Would like to know your opinion on the place, I personally love the place, only been once however it is completley amazing, best place ever, what do you think?

Well, frankly speaking, Turkish people generally do not consider Didim/Altınkum as a perfect holiday destination, including me. It's too crowded, noisy, and dirt cheap. There is something wrong with the clientele there, if you know what I mean. However, it was a beautiful place in my childhood, when it was still "undiscovered".

We prefer Bodrum, Çeşme, Fethiye, Antalya.

The name Altinkum means “Golden Sand” and when you see the wonderful sweep of its beach you will know why - it goes without saying that you can have the perfect “sun and sea” holiday here.

Too crowded and noisy for my liking. Each to their own.

Too noisy, crowded and 'english' for my liking.  Too popular with club 18-30s who are pissed and a pain in the neck all the time.  The beach is lovely though.

Best holiday destination ever!

I've been about seven times (been going since I was three - I'm thirteen now).

We're looking for a holiday to Turkey (anyplace), all inclusive for October but we seem to be getting drawn back to Altinkum!

If anybody goes to Altinkum and the Ege (Egy) Bar say hello to Mr White from Ann, Jackie, Ashley and Morgan please.

Also to the person who's complaining about it being cheap as dirt isn't that a good thing?

We have been to Turkey before, but last May was the first time that we had a holiday in Didim/Altinkum. It is a lot quieter than Marmaris

and much less hassle.

  We liked it so much, that next May we are returning with the grandkids, I am sure they will enjoy it there.
