I am curious to see if you think your representative should vote on what is best for their people once they make it to Congress or if you think they should vote according to how they feel on a given topic...

  1. They should vote on how they feel.  They should make how they feel very clear to their constituents though.  In the end, they should represent the majority of their constituents by voting the way they feel.  That would be the correct way of doing it.  Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way most of the time.

  2. Uh hello.....

They wouldn't be called representatives, if we were hiring them to do whatever they feel like doing!

They need to wise up.  They are elected to represent the people, and support whatever the majority of people are for or against.... not based on their own opinion.

  3. The Congress passed away in the year 2000, after the dictatorship assumed power.

  4. In theory, our representatives should vote the will of the majority.  In practice, they usually vote their own minds.

  5. If the representative was elected on a promise to vote a certain way then they should vote that way, honoring the promise.

If it is a subject that arises after they are elected, or which was not considered prior to their election, then they should vote for what they think would be the best choice for the people that elected them.

Theoretically, they get elected based on their own values (I did say "theoretically"),  so their own feelings on an issue should be close to those of the people that elected them to office.

  6. I think I'm sick of representatives telling me they feel the way I do to get me to vote for them and then vote a different way b/c they can. It's done on both sides of the aisle, and so "playing politics" continues on without the "voice of the people" really being heard. We need to start having a vote day each month where everyone in America who is of age has the opportunity to vote on every issue presented to the government. If congress can take months off at a time, I'm sure a few hours a month of every voters time would be warranted. Besides, we can know that the majority wins every vote, and there will be zero pork-barrel spending, as well as kick-backs. I probably didnt answer your question the way you wanted, but I'm venting.

  7. D.C. is nothing but social parties with lobbyists telling congress what they want.

  8. Nothing, they will never represent anybody, the degree of corruption is like the Congress has either cancer or aids

  9. Go out and have a nice dinner! Put people to sleep like Terri!

They Think they are thinking for you! They do nothing to represent me! I have asked and they do nothing! I am still trying but it is hopeless and it is a life death matter. It means nothing to them! Nothing! They cannot even send a letter back and say sorry nothing we can do. We don't even represent you!..idiot!
