i think it means that if we could have everything that we ever wanted right now, then there would be nothing to hope for for the future.

instead the expectation that our innest dreams can become reality can make us work even harder in order to achieve this goal.

also, a fundamental part of a dream is not of it turning into reality, but it's the wishing part, like foreplay. when we have it, then it can go away as fast as it came, but the longing for it, that's what makes it so interesting! .

It is a fact that dreams, especially daydreams, do come true.  The problem is that people are too lazy to work towards that 'dream' goal. And the trip towards that goal is the interesting part.
