What do you think looks better? Braces or Retainers?

What do you think looks better? Braces on girls or the visible kind of retainers with a wire in front?

I would actually recommend Invisalign. It's a great alternative to braces AND retainers and is pretty much invisible. It looks the best, because you see your natural pearly whites, and not all the metal in front that braces and retainers provide. =]

Invisalign look the best, but they are a nightmare. I actually preffered having braces in those last few months, since they didn't cause me any pain.

I have a set for retainers now that my braces are gone and trust me, after braces, if you have a device in your mouth that you can actually remove, chances are you're going to go without and then the braces mean nothing. I went without my retainer for a few weeks or a month (hard to keep track of time over the summer ^_~) and am now trying to coax it back in and it's just excruciating! Not to mention all the nasty spit that builds up in them. They're just horrid. Wire retainers aren't any better though, they just look worse.

i reckon braces look better.... and invisalign is probablt the best but they stain easily and sometimes look yellow.

I don't have a preference regarding the look but from experience I preferred wearing braces to wearing a retainer because it wasn't as yucky. Spit collects in the retainer and it is a bit gross
