Depends what you mean by successful. Everyone has different goals.

I take it you are referring to money though. I don't think you have to be cut throat take no prisoners to become rich like Marylin said. My uncle is well off and he didn't do anything of the sort. He just runs a prosperous business downtown.

I think the cut throat aggressiveness is a big part of it in certain fields of business but it doesn't necessarily carry over to everything else.

Also drive, a strong will and risk taking. If you look at alot of people who started from virtually nothing and built up to a prosperous business. They will all have these 3 things. I started a business at the age of 21 and ran it for a year but I just couldn't take it anymore. I didn't like what I was doing so in turn, it took all my drive and motivation away and I decided to close the business.

Business is a game. You got to know the rules. You got to know your position. You got to train hard and play to win. Most of all, you got to like the game you are playing, otherwise you won't want to play.

when they keep going no matter how bad or hard it may seem. doesn't matter how much work it may take because it in the end its all worth it.

my husband has a few very successful (like millionairs) friends here in Hungary.

They are very aggressive and not as nice as they were years ago.

They don't care who they run over as long as they make a buck.

We no longer visit them, such a drag to hang with them now.
