My 800m time is 2:50, and my 1600m time is 6:15ish. What do you think my 5K time would be? (I know the 2 sports are different and hard to compare, but I'm looking for approximations.)

  1. My 5 km time is my 800 m time multiplied by 9.12... Using the same conversion, yours would be 25:50

  2. Well most likely if you run a 800 in 2:50, your mile time would be around 6:45 but a mile time you could keep up for 5k would probably be closer to 8:00 so i would say maybe 25 min more or less

  3. My 800m time is 2:45 and my mile time is 6:00.

My 5k time is between 21:00 and 23:00 minutes.

  4. 23:00

  5. It is a totally different race but those are fantastic times. You probably won't be able to do it in your first race but with some training I can definitely see you running under 21 minutes. Great job!!!

  6. My friend runs 800m in 2:40 and Mile in 6:30 and runs her 5k in 23-24 (And she always ended up walking part of the race because she didn't have enough endurance).

You looks like you're a lot better at keeping constant pace.  With some training you can probably get 21-23 minutes considering everyone's mile splits slow down as they run longer distances and there are hills and different terrains in xc. (sand, rocks, etc)

It all comes with practice.  You may even break 21 if you practice well.
