What do you think my chances at Notre Dame are?

3.75 unweighted GPA

All honors and 3 AP courses including senior year (my school only offers 6 AP classes)

top 10% of class

4 on Spanish AP Test

A normal Principles of Chemistry I class at Wesleyan University senior year (Wesleyan is an elite liberal arts college). I had to apply to the High School Scholars program they have. I intend on majoring in chemistry.

700 on Writing, 690 on Math, and 680 on Reading

35 Hours of Community Service

played football and basketball freshman year

play recreation league basketball now

junior- treasurer senior- president of the Internation Culture Club

As sophomore, co-founded the Support Our Nation Club. I am the current vice-president.

Member of the Spanish Honor Society

I would say my chances are about 25%. What would you say they are?

  1. You look qualified.  Since Notre Dame accepts 25% of all applicants, and not all are qualified, I put your chances a little higher -- perhaps 40%

    You may want to look at Princeton Review.  They have a lot of statistics on those accepted to a number of schools.  They also have a tool where you can enter information about your background and interests.  It then suggests good schools for you.  The link is below.


  2. Other than your GPA, everything looks good.  Your GPA is not that high.  I knew people with a 3.9 unweighted GPA who got wait-listed at Notre Dame that had basically the same qualifications as you do.
