This is an R&S question because I value my fellow Regulars opinions and knowledge. R&S is more than just a basic forum but a community. I wanted to ask the community a question. Nothing wrong with that.

  1. I think some female voters will be blinded from McCain's policies by the fact that she's a female.

  2. Cheap ploy to appeal to women and the "breaking the glass ceiling" crowd.  In the end, Obama is better looking, so it will never work.

I have great disdain for cheap ploys, so McCain falls farther from my realm of respect than before.

  3. this is an R&S question how?

  4. She's worse than what the McCain camp has accused Obama of being -- young, inexperienced, lacking in international relations experience.

It will be difficult for the GOP mouthpieces on cable and radio to legitimately criticize the Democratic ticket when the Republican ticket is just as weak or weaker.

Obama chose someone who can lead, if he can't.

Did McCain really choose the best vice presidential choice to step in, if he leaves office?

But who has ever voted for a president because of the vice presidential candidate?

  5. She won't help him one bit.  He chose her as strategy only.  Do you think that Americans cannot see that?

We don't want 4 more years of the same ignorance in the White House.

  6. Makes no difference to me. She's still a Republican and I won't vote that way as a female.

  7. They're unstoppable and America is saved again.

  8. Wow.  I wonder who is going after unhappy Hillary supporters.

McCain is no young man.  I believe he would be the oldest person elected to president if he won.

Do we really want someone with two years experience becoming president.

Everything the Republican FUD mill has said about Obama's lack of experience etc.  applies to this woman in spades.

What I want to know is will any of the press be willing to step forward and point out this hypocrisy?

  9. Cool!

Obama talks a good talk but lacks real substance.

McCain is at least a moderate.

    I'm a libertarian myself so...

  10. I'm unhappy that he ended up choosing someone with such socially conservative views.  Supports a constitutional amendment to ban same-s*x marriage, categorically anti-abortion, and a creationist.  She's a vice president that Bush would be pleased about.

I look at that ticket and I am concerned.  What will they do about climate change?  What will they do to the standard of science education in this country?  What will they do in terms of the influence of religious groups in Washington?  Will they continue to restrict the rights of Americans?

And looking at her experience, I wonder whether McCain chose the person best qualified for the job.  As governor, she didn't author bills on Iran, Iraq, or national defense spending.  She didn't participate in Senate debates on declaring war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    Anyway, these are my $0.02.

  11. Wonderful choice!

  12. I think she's a MILF.

    Here's proof:

It's actually a great choice. Obama is doing much worse with white women than expected. This will make it even harder for him.

  13. Put this in politics, not in religion.

Either way though, it's a controversial and contentious question.
