  1. For ever after that child will have to spell out his name. If he was to have any sense he'd just adopt the simpler spelling anyway, or change it to something that he might like.

  2. It is annoying to teachers and to the kid because people always spell the name wrong.

  3. I'm either or. It sparks interest but like you said, they're hard to spell and remember for the kid.

However, sooner or later the child will learn to spell their name and that's really all that matters.

I believe that the spelling of a name is everything.

For example, I don't like the name ERIN but I love the name AERYNN (same pronounciation)

Here are other names that I don't like one way but like them another way:

    (girl)

    OLIVIA changed to ALIVIAH

    CAITLIN changed to KATELYN

    ASHLEIGH changed to ASHLEE

    GRACE changed to GRAICE

    (boy)

JACKSON changed to JAXSON (I'm sick of Jaxon as its my brothers name)

On the other hand, there are names that just shouldn't be changed:

    ISAAC changed to IZAK (NO!)

    PHOEBE changed to FEEBEE (NO!)

    EMILY changed to Emma-Lee (NO!)

    Anyway, you get my gist.

    Hope I have helped.

  4. it makes teachers misspell there names CONSTANTLY.

    trust me, i would know.

  5. I have said it before and I'll say it again. It takes more than moving a few letters around in your kid's name to make you or them interesting or creative. The rest of the world shouldn't keep having to ask how a common name is spelled.

  6. I don't think parents realize whether you name your child Madison or Maddisyn, it's still the same name.  Aidan or Ayden, again, the same name.  The different spelling doesn't make them unique it just means they will have to spell there name for the rest of their life.

  7. One of my best friends was named Emmalee.  She loves how her name is spelled differently than anyone else's.  In fact, I think someday I may name my child Emmalee Grace.  The only problems Emmalee seemed to have with her name was when other people filled things out with her name they would almost always misspell it as "Emily" until they actually met her... but it never really bugged her too much.

  8. i've never had this problem but i know people who have

    my familys names are

Emily - never gets mispelled or misspronunced

    Jason - same as emily

    Natasha - almost never

    Nicola - very rarely

    Charlotte - never

  9. It's bad enough when you try to make a normal name "unique"  like spelling Jane as Jeighn but i really hate it when people come up with something that isn't a name to  begin with and then weird up the spelling from there.  My all time favorite is the couple who couldn't be satisfied to name their kid Legacy but had to spell it Leggesie.  That kid is going to spend her life in a nightmare of misspellings, mispronunciations, snickers and rolled eyes.

  10. The only thing an unusually spelled name does for a child is point to the fact that their parents were under-educated chavs who can't spell properly and mistakenly think an unusually spelt name will make their child interesting and unique.

If you want people to think your family are morons, go ahead, grab your name book and mix up those letters.

  11. It depends, for the most part I am opposed weird spellings. UNLESS they are actually legitmate spellings that reflect a specific heritage. Such as Gabrijel (Gabriel) or Isak (Isaac). When they just randomly interchange vowels and over use the poor letter Y, then no I do not care for that. The parents end up looking like the were hooked on everything but phonics.

  12. I have a weird spelling and my best friend has a weird spelling too. Teachers can't pronouce our names. It sucks. She has a pretty common name, but my name is known but not common, and definately rarer since it's spelled completely different (Leena is my nickname, not real name). Either way, I think it works on some names, and some other names it's just fail.
