  1. Before the Acela, Amtrak ran a test train called the X-2000.

The X-2000 was built in Sweden, and it was a tilting train.

The X-2000 was better than the Acela, but the powers that be wanted the train to be built in the USA (to create jobs).

  2. Strange spelling is all I can say for sure.

Couldnt they come up wiht somehtign better?

  3. I've ridden on them a number of times. They are very comfortable, smooth, and fast.I clocked it going 125 mph in MD once.

They are usually crowded with passengers. I would ride them again, especially if my company is buying the ticket. If I pay myself, I'll go on a regional train.

Acela isn't worth the extra money.
