I went there once. Didnt like it. Pollution is insane there, people harass you nonstop to buy something or to give them money and they follow you everywhere.  Also there are "westerner prices" that is something that cost maybe 50 cents, will cost for you 10 dollars.

The dirtiest hotel in Asia I ever been to was in Baku, there were fleas jumping on me.  I ended up sleeping in the lobby and when I wokeup my money was gone....I kept my money in my underwear! so they looked good.

for beach holiday Azerbaijan is a bit expensive. there are some good places in Absheron peninsula, not far from the capital Baku, and in Nabran. if you want to see natural beauties, you can go to Guba, Zakataly, Lerik, Masally, Goygol and so on.

and Baku is a museum city, since there everywhere you can see historical buildings, as well as "inner city" - old city from 12th century.

there is not much theft in azerbaijan, and in restaurants i think tip always must be given. (not only in Azerbaijan)

p.s. this "by Me" either has never been to Azerbaijan or he is armenian. I dont know any other explanation for his full of lies answer.

in Baku there are so many 5 stars hotels, and as u know stars are given by international organization. so he is talking nonsense.
