Brenden Morrow used to 'hate' Sean Avery.

However, now that that the two of them are on the same team, the Stars' captain said he will give the super pest the benefit of the doubt and treat him like a teammate. Morrow said that he plans to get to know Avery off the ice in order to maintain a stable locker-room and that he will hold every player accountable for their actions if it hurts the team.

I think this shows how good of a captain he can be for Dallas. How much of a disruption will Avery be in Dallas?

  1. Avery is overrated.  Morrow is being very nice. win as a team lose as a team i guess

  2. I think Morrow is an exceptional player on and off the ice.  Yeah, he may be somewhat of an instigator, but that comes with the territory.  Sean Avery is a great player who does what the coaches tell him to do (excluding the Brodeur incident, lololol).

    Overall,

Sean Avery will perform well and I think he will adjust with Dallas' roster.  Him and Morrow will be a nasty tandem.

Watch for the Stars this year!

  3. That's what you call a captain!

  4. I think they'll make a cute couple.

It could be a great home for the "Avery-ator" I didn't relize Hull prepped him.

  5. I always thought he was a good, respectable captain (he has to be if he's the captain instead of Modano), and this just further solidifies it.  It also helps that Brett Hull, Avery's mentor, is in the front office.

  6. I really like Brenden Morrow as a team leader.  To tell you the truth, he reminds me of Stevie Y just a little bit.  Avery is one of those guys who you hate to play against because frankly he is a dic* on the ice.  I remember Chelios was the same way before he was traded to the Wings.  Everyone on the Wings hated him, but you learn to love him real quick when he is on your side.

Avery is hated out of respect, not because he is a bad player who goes around beating people to death.

  7. i think that's classy. it shows he's a real team player. it takes a lot to give up feelings of hate for someone, but he's doing this because he knows it's what's best for his team. if there's healthy relationships among players off ice, then it will definitely show on the ice when it counts.

  8. Everybody hates Avery until he is on their team.  The guy can be a huge pest.  However he plays hard, has some offensive skills, and can get your team powerplays by being a pest.

  9. I agree with the first poster... everyone hates Avery, but you cant hate a teammate (even if they are a d**k.)  I'm not suprised at all.

  10. I think at first he will be a pain in the a** but eventually everyone will get used to each other and be a team. I think Morrow is a great captain because i wold not be able to get to know Avery i hate him too much. i always thought he was a good captain but it sounds like he got his team under control.

  11. Avery sucks, but it will be somewhat fun to see him in a Stars jersey.  I don't hate Avery, but I don't see myself letting him use my cell phone if his car broke down either...or maybe I DO hate him after all.  lmoa.  Enough of my typing thoughts, back to the question...If Morrow still hates Avery after preseason, how will that reflect to other players in the locker room?  In other words, he HAS to like Avery to make Dallas a team...even if he is on the roster.
