Question:

What do you think of Brian Harris of Western Bulldogs changing his name?

The last person to do it was that Rhodes Scholar, Gary Hocking of the Cats, who changed his name to Whiskas - or similar spelling, I forget.

Harris is changing his surname to Lake so he can keep the family name going - for the sake of his son. Was it Shakespeare who wrote, "Oh, but what a tangled web we weave" ??

  1. I think he is changing it to his mother's maiden name.

A bit different to Einstein Hocking's circumstances.

What Harris has done is a bit similar to what a lot of the Collingwood players have done over the past - but their reason has been to dodge the police.

  2. Gary got paid $10,000 I believe and it was only for one day. As for Harris, it's his right to do it if he likes and no-one can tell him differently. William Shakespeare had nothing to do with it either.

Someone else wrote "Oh what a nose we have, when first we stick it into other people's business.

Just chill man let him be.

  3. i reckon its fair enough, you would of thought he would of done it a bit earlier in his life though, just cause he's had a kid, oh well its up to him.

what ab out when ricky ponting wanted to be called rick from now on, that didnt quite work, lol.

  4. Whatever floats his boat.

  5. I think it is a good idea - if he wants to retain the heritage of a family surname.

Imagine what my have happened if he had done this mid season. He may even have came first & second in the Brownlow Medal voting!
