This has been reported in the news today. Reportedly, she wants to adopt 6 year old twin girls who are currently in an orphanage in China.

Could this really happen?

  1. I can't believe it. I mean she doesn't even have custody of her own two boys!!

  2. I like to think it couldn't happen.  But it seems to me that the best interest of the child/ren is no longer considered in adoptions, particularly in private and/or international adoptions.

We live in a world where babies go to the highest bidder, whether that bidder is a capable parent or not.  Sad.

  3. Ms. Spears can't even take care of herself or her natural child, so I think it's a big mistake to adopt a child. Not only a big mistake, but makes no logical sense.

  4. She is not going to be able to adopt them.  At least, if she doesn't somehow get around it, but she is not over 30 and she is single (or in the middle of a divorce).  IF China makes an exception for her, well then...obviously anyone waiting on a referral from China should be PO'ed because they usually don't make exceptions for celebrities.

There are many more reasons she does not fit the criteria for adopting from China.  I would be really shocked and saddened if this were to come true.

  5. LOL!   If this is true, its ridiculous! She cant even take care of her own two boys!

  6. Ahh - our next pop heroine with delusions about her worth to humanity.  I think that this a pathetic publicity stunt.  Are twins "in style" this year?

Could it really happen?  I hope not, but nothing surprises me about the influence of $$$ in adoption anymore.

  7. She doesn't meet China's requirements.  She is under 30 and single...both are not allowed under China's rules for adoption.

  8. she might want to start with her own kids before she gets new ones- it's never gonna happen!

  9. Because she's probably mad that she lost custody of her kids but don't believe everything you hear.

  10. I'm thinking that you can't possibly be serious.  If you are, I'm sure it obviously won't happen.  It's not like her custody battle has been a secret, everyone in the world knows she's not being a responsible mom right now.  I'd say she better start wishing for something a little more realistic.

  11. Just totally wrong.

  12. Was it a real news program? She doesn't qualify under most of their criteria. Thankfully!

  13. I don't think it would go through.  They have computers and tabloids over there.  They would have to know what a bad parent she would be... AND you can't have any mental illness to adopt from there-She's out :)

  14. NOOOOOOO!  She's a horrible mother!

  15. It "could" happen, because believe it or not, in some parts of the world children can still be bought and sold.  However, I think it's unlikely that she's actually going to bring them home.

Maybe she's "adopting" them in the way that the TV infomercials try to get you to "adopt" a child.  Send us $100 a month and we'll give a kid some rice.

I would have major issues with anyone putting children in Brittney's care again.  However, if she wants to buy a nanny for them and a nice house for them to live in, I suppose it's better than an orphanage.  Just keep HER out of it!

  16. This must be a joke by China adoption criteria a person now has to be married in order to adopt. If it’s a 2nd marriage they have to be married for at least 5 years.  Not to mention she cant take the best care of the kids she has now, she isn’t even allowed to have the boys in a car with her.

  17. I think she won't make it through a homestudy.

  18. i hope not. she cant even take care of her own two little boys. plus, to adopt from china you have to be over 30 and you cant be single.

  19. China has pretty strict laws on who can adopt and when....even down to the prospective parents' health, age, income,  years married, etc.  There are plenty of people waiting to adopt children (granted, they're usually waiting for infants) from China.

  20. I would be shocked if she could actually do it.  That girl is one hot mess.  I heard on the radio today that her court appointed parent coach is begging to be reassigned because Brit-Brit is completely cuckoo bananas.

We really will have to agree that the system is completely wacked if she is able to adopt from China.

    Yikes.

  21. maybe id say its just a cry for attention she can't even take care of her self have you seen her lately and she can't take care of her own flesh and blood what makes them so speacil

  22. i don't believe that this could be true at all. Would china even consider her? she doesn't meet the age requirements, and has just lost custody of her kids for being unstable.

she does have alot of money. money speaks, but in this case, i don't think it would speak enough.

  23. i do hope that this poor tormented soul finds the love and help she needs.

  24. They are just going to get taken away like the others

  25. i don't...

  26. With all her publicity, I would wonder about the validity of any agency who would allow an adoption!!!

  27. I doubt this is true.

  28. If Britney does qualify for the twins then ANYONE should qualify to adopt from China. Usually being famous can help you get things normal people can't but in this case it is not happening. She should try taking care of her own kids first.

  29. She most definately should NOT be able to adopt.  Where is her head at?  She has trouble taking care of her own kids, let alone someone else's.  She'll never make Mother of the Year.  She was a lot better off with Justin Timberlake, when she had a head on her shoulders.  She gets a NO vote from me.

  30. ROTFLMAO!!

Perhaps this is a topic that all of us here can finally agree on. Somehow I do not see anyone here thinking that is a good idea.

  31. GOOD GRIEF...she can't even take care of her two boys.

I'd say it's probably just a hoax or something.

    If it's not...I hope they don't let her...BAD IDEA!!!
