Question:

What do you think of Canada's HBC Olympic Gear?

Roots used to always be responsible for Canada's official Olympic gear. Roots is a Canadian company that produces high-quality Canadian-made clothing.

Prior to the 2006 Olympics, HBC acquired the contract to exclusively manufacture and sell Canada's official Olympic gear. Not only is HBC owned by Americans, but the majority of their Team Canada Olympic clothing is made in China. It is of obvious lower quality, but still priced extremely high. HBC makes a much larger line of Olympic clothing, but it seems dumb to have Team Canada clothes in colours like blue, green, yellow, etc.

Personally, I wish Roots still made the Olympic Gear because it was something to be proud of, HBC's Olympic stuff is an embarassment to Canada. What do you think?

  1. I think it's pedalled through HBC by China.  Actually, I know it's made in China.  The Hudson Bay Corp. should be ashamed.

  2. Over priced  I love the Bay but they blew this one

  3. Profits and shameful greed. Patriotism is almost dead here in Canada.
