What do you think of Carl Jung's concept of the Universal Mind?

  1. I am unaware of Jung mentioning the Universal Mind.  Do you mean the "collective unconscious"?

    I think Jung tried to make sense of the world as he saw it.  When the data is carefully selected one can find numerous examples of the collective conscious at work.  However, if all of humanity is examined there are more instances in opposition than in support.


  2. I think it was a very early attempt to explain a concept that he did not at the time and we do not still fully understand.

    Rupert Sheldrake has a slightly more defined theory called Morphic Resonance that has some experimental evidence for it's existence.

    I believe Jung called it collective unconsciousness.

    Please remember that Jung was heavily influenced by Freud and much of his work is clearly written with the knowledge of his day.

    I believe they were explaining aspects of quantum psychics in particular entanglement that no one has yet formulated well enough to test in every day life.
