  1. fake fireworks. fake singer. i wonder what else is fake.

  2. There are a h**l of a lot of rough looking Chinese!

  3. china may have hidden a girl with crooked teeth which is pretty sad, but i wonder what london is going to cover up? theres way too much c**p here to hide.

  4. AbsoluteTerrible, the child must be heart broken. The biggest stage in the World and they Destroy her big moment.

  5. It's a wicked shame for the little girl, but of course this sort of thing was very common years ago on west end stages and I am sure elsewhere, the pretty girl or woman would mime the song whilst the plain jane sang from behind the curtain.

  6. Hang on for a minute.

In the West, we like to have "perfect faces" in our movies, and in our advertisements.

Let's not get into double standards with judging China...

  7. This is just very "Chinese mainlanding" - everything looks great, nothing's real.

Nearly in all concerts in China, the singers mime.

Chinese mainlanders just want it "perfect". In tradition, if one does not appear to be perfect all the time, other people would not worship him and will challenge him. It is about being previlaged (stepping on others heads) or being stepped. There is no fairness or equality in China. All Chinese follow this rule, except those who are educated in overseas.

Mind you that there are 400,000 internet commentors working for the gov. You must have met half a dozen here.

  8. Shallow and indicative of the sort of duplicity and fakery which goes on in the "showbiz" world today.

  9. Hello,

(ANS) If that is true? & I have no reason to believe its NOT true! Then that shows how far & extreme the state authorities are prepared to go to paint a totally false & plastic flawless picture of China's Olympic games.

**Its no better or worse than sending Chinese volunteers to fill up half empty stadiums to make it look like the events in question were or are a massive success.

This is nothing short of State Nationalistic propaganda in my opinion, its how the Chinese state authorities wants the outside world including the west to see the country & games. But its NOT the truth, its not the full picture its a state constructed picture. In other words don't believe what you see on TV there is far more to China.

    Ivan.

  10. If that's true, then it's pretty messed up. Just shows what kind of society we live in

  11. Yes I saw this.  It's disgusting and appalling but why are we surprised?  The media has always done things like this to dupe the people.

We all know China is like this...out to present this phenomenal image of itself.

They literally voiced over this girl with that other girl's voice at the ceremony.  And that other kid sits there and gets all the glory and fame.

Always the way of the world isn't it?  Rewarded for nothing.

Did you read down that article and see how they also FAKED the fireworks?

They had PRE-RECORDED images broadcast to the world of the opening ceremonies...in case the SMOG obliterated the real ones.

    TOO MUCH!!!!

Makes you wonder what on earth is real and true anymore.

"See us for what we want  you to see us as, not what we are".

Seems the whole world is nuts this way don't you think??

  12. I suppose that they are just as vain and plastic as any  Western state. So you are the famous Stormy then huh?

  13. You could be being a little naive here.

When a product needs to be sold, whether its shampoo, movies, clothes or Olympics,it is now and always has been sold with images that are pleasing to the eye.

It may not be particularly fair but the practise isnt restricted to the Chinese.

I would be more concerned that Britain has offered some black boys in hoodies jumping around to some mindless rap song as a representation of British culture at the closign ceremonies.I'm stunned at the arrogance and idiocy of the politically correct imbeciles who are responsible for this embarrassing travesty.

What the h**l have black people, hoodies and rap music got in common with British culture. They have much more association with lnife crime in Britain.

    I

  14. Its pathetic but you have to admit that the girl looked like someone threw her teeth into her mouth as she was running past, poor love.

As vengeance her teeth will right themselves and they'll be perfect enough to grace toothpaste ads all over the world!!!!!

  15. It's so wrong and does show the lengths China has gone to to show perfection..... but my family and I spotted the miming during the opening ceremony. The mimer has a fixed cheesy grin on her face that would have made it impossible to sing. I actually thought the singer would be an adult.

  16. She would have won my heart crooked teeth or not!!!!

Crooked teeth are a part of childhood, baby teeth falling out, new teeth coming through.  I think she has much more appeal that the so called pretty one.

China want to impress the West, but they got it wrong with this.

  17. Haven’t we seen this type of conduct before…?

Next they will be breeding kids with Blond Hair & Blue Eyes (Sieg Heil - If you know what I mean).

  18. It's a complete disgrace.  That poor child will only feel ugly now, she probably won't even be able to accept that she has a lovely voice which is more important.

I'm trying to figure out if the Chinese want to look good in their own eyes, or if they want to look good in the eyes of the world.

  19. they should have capped her teeth and let her sing.

  20. I think they royally screwed up, that little Yang Peiyi is adorable!  She would have made a much greater impression to us Westerners because she's an amazing little singer, and she's cute.  A lot of 7-year olds have crooked teeth, big deal, they usually correct themselves as their adult teeth grow in.  Her amazing voice is what's imporant here, not a "perfect" look.  Looks sometimes don't survive childhood, talent is forever.

  21. unbelievable!!! no wonder people grow up with a complex!!

  22. if it was in the usa. the 7 year old will be in therapy now

no amount of dentistry will restore her self esteem

  23. With china being the way they are towards the fairer s*x anyway I'm surprised there was any females at the opening full stop.

  24. That’s no very nice. But I suspect they do much worse things than that too.

  25. Theres never an excuse for bad teeth ..........

  26. China has the same surface values about beauty, but they haven't cottoned on to the American solution of putting all its children into braces from age 2.

Teeth are partly a genetic affair, they can be healthy and imperfect, but people have forgotten about that. Cosmetic dentists don't remind people because there's money to be made.

  27. That's so wrong in so may ways! If it was such an issue way didn't they just fix the girls teeth!
