What do you think of China in boxing?

Question

They managed to get 2 golds, a silver and a bronze during the 2008 Beijing games and a bronze in the 2004 Athens Games. And they have only been boxing for a bit longer than a decade, though they got the help of foreign(Cuban) coaches.

Do you think that China will be even more successful in boxing in the future?

P.S I was a little disappointed that the Aussie boxers didnt get a medal but as long as they tried thier best. Hope we get a gold in the 2012 london games!

Sometimes the home team gets favoured by the toss of the coin, wind direction, crowd and so forth. In boxing, the crowd plays a huge part in the boxer's mentality. So if the Chinese were realy good, they'd won many more medals than the total number they achieved. Crowd advantage pays a lot to the psychy and I'm sure it lifted the Chinese. Remember how the Greeks were doing so well in athens? Where were they now? Cuba and America are still good, so will the Russian and many other middle eastern boxers continue to develop. The biggest question mark also was the scoring, is it legit or is it bull dung? It seemed to favour the Chinese too hey???? In terms of their training regimen, going as far back to the days of great marshall artists, they should be the most prepared boxers mentaly and physically but then most teams are on par in terms of preparations these days and should always edge out the Chinese on skill alone. So to put all into perspective, the Chinese will go back to their place on the world order and the next hosts should do well and the cycle will keep revolving!

I think they benefitted from some generous judges.  boxing takes good pedigree, and it will be at least 30 to 50 years before China starts turning out boxers that will be impact fighters outside the olympics.

There is a reason that mexican and latin american and southeast asian fighters do so well... it is genetics... chinese are lankier than the asians in Indonesia, Thailand, and Philippines...

They just get luck in their side, I just don't know if how long they can have great luck next time.
