It is the one where you buy certain new vehicles, and then get a card which allows you to buy gas at 2.99 for 3 years.

  1. It's good marketing.  That's it.

  2. Since the highest rated vehicle (in terms of mpg) is only 24-not a whole lot.

It is not enough to persuade me to puchase a new vehicle at this time.  If I was in the market already for a new vehicle, and was debating between two similar vehicles from different companies-it might tip the scale. Or if I was planning to buy later this year, it might change my time schedule.

Also worth noting is that there is a limit in the number of gallons allowed per year and for the the entire program.  If I compare a vehicle that gets 24 mpg w/ 36000 miles of discounted cas to a vehicle that gets 35 mpg and now discounted gas.  I will likely go with the 35 mpg  (I still have to pay the high gas prices for several years, and probably with the higher mpg will probably have a higher resale value in the long run.

  3. too good to be true
