  1. That it got flattened by the Germans in World War II.


  2. There is an old expression in England.  It's being, "sent to Coventry."

    It had negative connotations.

    Coventry is an old industrial city, completely unremarkable and dangerously close to the Midlands.

    I would rather go somewhere else, if I had a choice.
