One of the Distant Favorites or a Dark Horse?

One thing is for sure winning single tournament is not easy on ATP Tour (even with top players not competing). Also, there is only one way for a Tennis player to get confidence and that is by winning tournaments. And by winning four, I think, he will give Top 10 guys run for their money. Ain't gonna be easier for them, for sure.

  1. You'e right, he's not going to be easy to get rid of. I think he has the potential to upset a couple of top players at the Open but he's not on the same level as Nadal, Djokovic or even Murray. I think he'll make it to the 4th round, quarterfinals at best. I think he'll be considered more of a dark horse than a distant favorite.

  2. Ok, yeah maybe, but 2 of them were on clay. And the only Top 10 player he faced was Andy 'out of sorts' Roddick so it is impressive but not like he beat Djokovic or Nadal, as you said.

I'd say a far distant favourite, that would win if Federer, Nadal and Djokovic all got knocked out in strange circumstances.

  3. i don't think so.-

like josh said, he beat two top 10, but they weren't exactly in their best time, specially andy, who knows what's happening to him(i'm hoping he get back on track soon!!).-

  4. He's young and could do well at the US Open! This year's been pretty great for him. Every Grand Slam this year has had its surprises. Tsonga making it to the Australian finals, Monfils making it to the Roland Garros semis and Schuettler reaching the Wimbledon semis. Del Potro could give us another shock!

  5. He's a good player, but will eventually lose to like Djokovic, Nadal or Federer.  Roddick is a nobody.  He'll never win another tournament and he's on his way down pretty fast.  That's why players like Del Potro are beating on him left and right.  He is lucky that the top players were busy with the Olympics because they would have won this event over him and Roddick.  I'm hoping Nadal would do better this year.  He took out the likes of Hewitt and Djokovic on hard court....if that doesn't say anything as to how improved his game is, then I don't know what else to say.
