Hello Sir,

               Dublin, is a wonderful and very cosmopolitan city, and it is always on the move, admittedly it's only he odd gard or street wanderer, in the early hours, and people trying to find where they live after a great night out, and in my own opinion, it really is the most annoying city to drive a vehicle through, even on the main streets, the New Motorway ring-road might relieve the situation, but Just like the Motorways in England, it will soon Jam-up again, the planners have got it all wrong as usual.

               Dublin is a city with a character all of its own, and the people there are just as full or character too, very old fashioned in its Irish antiquity, but bang up to date in everything that is to do with being a modern city to be alive in, no matter what your age or interests, but for all this good report, it still earns its nickname, " Durty owld town" very well, and never fails to live up to it. I love the place, no airs'n'graces, and lots of familiar faces, not forgetting to places...Good Luck Now..."paddy-mac"...Tony M...

It's a great place to go to school in. I love having lunch in St.Stephan's green and being able to go shopping in River Island, Lacoste etc. easily.

The employees of sandwich bars, shops etc are not very helpful and tend to get orders etc wrong as knowing how to speak English doesn't seem to be a requirement of employers in Dublin. That can irk a person.

There's really no reason to leave the city but if you do try to avoid North-side areas (except Clontarf area) and Palmerstown, Ballyfermot  Clondalkin etc.  You probably wont understand what the people in those places say to you and they may try to rob you.

The city could do with a face lift but I guess it is being rejuvenated little by little.

Cork is a lovely place, and the people are friendlier than Dublin people, so they probably deserve the status of capital city more.

Dublin isnt really the most "upscale" of places in ireland. But the people are lovely, exellent shops. Its also very expensive so that could be a downside! But yeah apart from that, its a blast to live here! But if you want to go anywhere make it wexford, what a county! Up d yella bellies! And it is true that english people arent popular here, not just in Dublin but all over Ireland. I think that individually they r lovely!

There are so many forgien ppl in ireland let alone Dublin, i went into a shop in Kildare the other day and ordered a roll of some kind i cant remember but the lady behind the counter didnt understand a word i said. The irish are impatient people as it is, and when we go to a shop we want to be able to get what we want when we want it, we dont wanna repeat ourselves!

Dublin's okay, but there are other more interesting capitals in Europe. I preferred Dublin in the 1980s when it was a lot cheaper and more cheerful, and when Temple Bar was a place you didn't go down at night unless you were looking for ... well, illegal stuff. Not that I ever did, but ....

No, now Dublin is overpriced and has lost its sense of humour. Shame, really.

Not a lot. They don't like English people in Dublin...we tried to get into a (half empty) pub the last time i went there and the bouncer asked where we were from (there were 10 of us. 5 chaps, 5 girls all mid to late 20's, all professional and very respectable) when we said Manchester he said we couldn't go in!!

Imagine an English bouncer saying that to 20 Irish people? They'd be a riot!

I'm not going back....there's really not a lot to do there anyway.

I thought it was quite a beautiful big city, extremely nice people, and a fun town all around. I enjoyed my short stay there.

It's brilliant but it would be even better if it had dubliners in it, i was there in July and all the bar persons and shop assistants were foreign, in fact just about everywhere we went they were foreign. When i go to Dublin it would be nice to talk to people from there.

It's a nice place.  Lots of interesting places to visit, nice shops, lovely parks, friendly people, lots of history, plenty of pubs!

I found Dublin to be a very charming city with very nice and friendly people. St. Stephens Green is a wonderful place to take a stroll and enjoy people watching. The shops along O'Connell Stree are a lot of fun, and Trinity College (and the Book of Kells) is very awe-inspiring. Dublin is definitly worth a stop during an irish holiday.

I have lived in Ireland ever since I was a baby,

I have learned about their history and their culture. Dublin is a beautiful place, all my friend are wonderful and kind to me. Lovely scenes and lovely places to go. Their dance is very good too. Its called Irish Dancing, I have learned for many years. Dublin is the perfect place for tourists and for people to live in.

in all fairness, dublin would make a lovely place in Ireland if it was'nt for the people. To obtain money, they act nice to tourists(most of them), however, if anyone from any of the other counties come up, the dubs scream abuse at you. The posh ones call you a 'culchie' or a 'bogger' as do the chav/skanger ones only they fling stuff too. They act REEALLY posh and s****. because they live in where the english first settled here and they have inherited their tendency to look down on the rest of the world. It just annoys me to go up there and have people screaming at me and all these questions on Yahoo! which I try and answer about Ireland but they are all about dublin. In a nutshell, I hate it.

It's Awesome!!  I cant wait to go again.  It's full of history, beauty, great shops, food is ok!

I like Dublin with lots of big shops schools and universities but i thnk its over crowded and wouldnt like to live in dublin.Houses r too small in Dublin.

I live in Dublin, and it has changed an awful lot in the last 15 years, but than so has the whole of Ireland. It's a place where you can have fun, a great time, but also meet some of the most awful racism and like every major city,  violence.

I don't go into the city centre very often, but when I do I enjoy it, and whatever you want to make of your night, is what you will get. An d I don't think Irish people hate the English, it's like the Cork people here, all in a bit of jest...
