it would be a pretty name, just think of what a nickname for her would be before you actually name her. could be el(which is pretty) or eddy(pronounced E D) make sure your ok with her being called those or anything else you can think of, probably will be called them at some point in her life.

I´m a german native speaker and I love the name Edelweiss for a character! I think it`s really cute! Apart from that an Edelweiss is really pretty and very rare flower that grows only in the alps..so if you really love me, darling bring me edelweiss..a funny song which a friend of mine made..

It depends all on your characters personality, and her origin. If she's from a country like Germany or Austria (or has links to those places) then yeah, I think it would be very suitable. But, for some reason, I keep thinking it's a title of a song as well?

It's cute, sounds kinda original and artsy...  It'd be mispronounced a lot in real life though (ay-dull-vice)... But I'm partial to German names I think :D
