  1. ----Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP): An EVP is the attempt to capture a ghost or spirits voice on audio recording tapes. Typically there is no voice heard to the people present at the recording but after playing back the tapes there are sometimes strange voice recordings

I think it is a very interesting Phenomena obtained on recorders that these voices which sometimes will show up after you ask a bunch of questions , i do believe in it, i have captured a few with my group, but you got to realize the most common things can be mistaken as voices on recorders such as breathing sometimes people think it is substantial evidence  like to them its a whisper, I do not always think you can automatically call somewhere super active with a few E.V.P.s  , i mean heres an example of how we do evps:

what we do is explain what a recorder is

*Please speak loudly into the device with the red dot on it, it helps us hear your voice.*

    - we usually record for like 15 - 20 mins. a session and give about 15- 40 secs in between each question we ask

It takes time for them to reply, their voice isn’t as quick as ours in replying.

Ask Questions with a digital recorder like :

    1. Is any one here.

    2. Is there any one who would like to make their presence known?

    3. Can you give us a sign your here.

    4. Can you give us a sign your here by making a noise or moving some thing.

    5. What is your age or how old are you?

    6. What year is it or do you know what year it is?

    7. Can we help you?

    8. Do you need help?

    9. Are you lost?

    10. Are you upset we’re here?

    11. Would you like us to leave?

    12. Are you upset the home owners are here.

    13. Is this your home / business?

    14. If you have any thing to say speak loudly into the tape recorder. (Explain what the tape recorder is).

    15. We’re here to try and help you; we’re not here to harm you. Please let us know what we can do.

I mean i analyze them with adobe audition, i have heard that usally 0-300wavelength  is a spirit voice but alot of it is theory and in this field , The paranormal is full of theories..

  2. I think the idea started back in the days of Thomas Edison and his famous quote about building a machine to detect spirits. That was a time of marvelous advancement and extreme optimism. The skeptics were there as well saying the phonograph was a ventriloquist trick because wax couldn't record sound (seems familiar somehow huh?)

I think EVPs are highly questionable as evidence for anything. However, if one could get a human sounding voice (that was clearly understandable) that was in a frequency range that a human voice could not produce then you would at least have something unusual to explain (and possibly evidence). If you could replicate it at the same location (more evidence) and it appeared to respond to questions of humans (more evidence) then it's time to take it seriously.

I don't think the idea should be give up just refined (a lot) for further research.

In the meantime here is a link for the EVP association.

  3. You can't connect to the other side with microphones or electronics or volt-meters or infrared cameras. It's only possible with your mind. Our mind is the only pathway we have to another dimension.

EVP is for television and Youtube.

  4. Wow, I can't believe that the tomato actually gets two points for that answer.  EVPs are evidence of the presence of spirits among us.  There are many different classes of EVP based upon the quality of the recording.  I feel that if an EVP is able to be heard by more than one person without the influence of past listeners, has intelligent answering of questions asked by the investigator, or it is obviously understandable then it is a keeper.  I believe that EVP may be our only true way of speaking to the dead.

  5. I think that a lot of people who have been told they are mentally ill  because they hear voices would like to have a good EVP to show their psychiatrists!!

Edit..I think years ago I had an EVP in my head!! lol I'm surprised others couldn't hear it...altho it wasn't outloud like a regular voice through vocal chords. It was VERY LOUD strong thoughts..When I wouldn't do what it said..it YELLED at me. lol Told me one time to ask the man at the store to look for an angel statue..even tho the other worker said there weren't any The "voice" told me to ask him . When I said"No,I don't want to.." it YELLED.."ASK HIM!!"..So I said ok and did. Guess what..there was one under the counter. This was just one of many times. After awhile..you start believing it's not your imagination...after it gives you confirmation of it. So..for yourself..you really don't need to have an EVP to have "proof"..you just need to believe ME. But you can't , can you! That's ok..sometimes it's hard for me to believe it..but I KNOW it happened ..and it wasn't mental illness or my imagination.  But you can't prove it to a skeptical world!

  6. what its it? i am a tomato so questions have to have extra juice for me to understand.

it is the thing where you can tell your computer where to go? if it is, i should get one because this one has been "bugging" since MS Vista.

there it is again that eerie echo.

i didn't know, i took a shot, i was wrong. what do you want me to do, set myself on fire? sheesh.

  7. >I have heard some very good EVPs. Me personally, I have never got one that I considered to be a keeper. when you can rule out all external audio sources and your left with something on a recorder that should not be there, its really cool.

  8. oh, i see we are in the paranormal. does that mean they have ghost voices on tape? i do believe that there is so much out there that we don't understand. UFOs, ghosts, voices, sure why not? we can't be so stubborn and prideful as to believe that only what we see exists

  9. There's two problems with EVP that make it hard to swallow.

First (and I am a microwave technician by training) there's so many ways that a stray radio signal could generate an EVP recording that it would only be weird if there weren't any EVPs.

Secondly, the human brain is so heavily programmed to make sense out of voice-like sounds that people are going to hear all sorts of words and things that are very subject to interpretation...or suggestion.

Until an EVP voice gives some information that can be empirically proved, I think this falls into the "interesting but let's not get excited yet" pile.

  10. Using dubious electronic means to capture a transitory extra-scientific phenomena is like using a flashlight to find black holes. The technology has to grow before science can 'grab hold'. We know something's out there, but we can't do much with today's technology. Keep looking...
