I usually go with AC Delco for my 2001 Regal but they didn't have what I needed. I purchased a Fram instead. Not to familiar with it but it was cheaper.

  1. Fram is Ok. I prefer Wix filters myself however, ever since  I participated in one of the "cutting open parties". There was  a lot more filter media in the Wix unit, and overall the filter appeared to be constructed better than the Fram.

For informational purposes, the Fram and the wix were for an older F150 with a 302.

  2. i use napa gold

  3. Never had a problem with one and I have been using them sense I stopped using Purolator filters.

I had used Purolators for years then I had an engine failure. Which either had to have been caused by the Purolator  that I had just put on or the one I had just taken off.

So I asked for warranty coverage (like it said on the box) and Purolator told be to take a hike.

That was 1981, I have not bought one from then on and tell every one else to.

  4. i like the grip on the bottom its my favorite filter we use them in fleet service big trucks 23 years

  5. we cut a bunch of them in 2 once.......try a wix and mobile 1....then cut all 3 in 1/2 when you are done with them......i did and now i would not put a fram or stp on a lawn mower......WIX or MOBILE1

  6. I like fram filters. Haven't had a failure yet. Fram probably makes the filters for AC Delco.

  7. I would whatever came with the car when it was new. I would use AC Delco  for GM and Motorcraft for Ford, Mopar for Chrysler, and so on.

  8. They are c**p paper filters, the grip is nice but the filter itself is c**p.  The advance store brand is a better quality filter and it has grip all over the whole filter not just the end.
