  1. He will deny it.

  2. I'm devastated.  What's more, I'm mystified by people who say, "He was a funny guy."  Personally, I never really saw George Carlin as a comedian.  To me, he was a sort of pop philosopher, the way Bill Hicks was.  If the Matrix was real life, George Carlin would be "the Kid."

  3. I rarely cry when celeb types die...but I sobbed this morning when I heard the news. George was more than a comedian to me and my family. He has always been a huge part of my husband and my relationship (we constantly quote him and leave each other "Carlin" all over the house) He was the person that helped me question this world that we live in. To me he was way more than just a comedian he was a philosopher and a genius. I hope he knows how many people's lives he effected on this earth. Some see him as a guy who tells jokes I see him as a guy who helped me find my way in life. Thank you George. Joe bless you.

  4. I just read the article, man was I shocked to hear that, I was thinking it's gotta be some publicity stunt nah, he couldn't be dead! but, sure enough it's true. He'll be greatly missed. I loved his warped sense of humor. His philosophy on life was awesome. I had to think for a minute after he'd say something and say " You, know I never thought about it that way but, that makes a lot of sense" huh ???? I too shed a tear for him. Thanks for the memories and great laughs George!

Cop didn't see it, I didn't do it! that was in one of his routines. Among so many other memorable observations on so many topics. It's a sadddd day in the comedic world as well as the fans that loved him.

My condolences to his friends/family he touched so many of our lives with his wit/wisdom and my prayers are with you.

  6. He was witty, profane, irreverant and totally original thinker. Funny guy will be missed.

  7. I didn't know until you said it.  He was a good comedian.  I like this quote of his...

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating...and you finish off as an o****m. -George Carlin

  8. it's sad he was great

  9. Expected but nevertheless sad. God gave him 71 years of grace and George repeatedly said "no". He was to perform here in November but he wasn't in control of that either. I hope his family can at least share fond memories and comfort each other in their loss.

  11. I am sure he is down there screaming up at us RIP

  12. Very sad. Carlin was my favorite comedian for many years. I just read of his death this morning. George Carlin was one of the best comedians....ever. I missed a chance to see him live on my birthday several years ago. I sure regret that now.

  13. All I can say is I hope God has more mercy on him, than he had for God.

  24. I heard about George Carlin's death very early this morning on the radio.  It was a complete shock to hear that one of the world's most beloved comedians has died of heart failure at the young age of 71.  George Carlin was a wonderful, intelligent, and beautiful man with an amazing combined talent of both acting and comedy.  He will be forever sorely missed.
