Question:

What do you think of Gov Palin's claim that she sold the Alaska plane on EBay?

Her Secretary came on CNN and disclosed the fact that the state got a broker to come in and sell the plane. Just a small falsehood, but goes to credibility. Does anyone believe that she needs to at least start off being honest.

  1. Hey, if you don;t appreciate a joke hang it up. Most of us knew she was being funny.

I guess that some of you didn't catch on.

But then. no one expects liberals to have a sense of humor.

  2. She listed it on eBay, twice. BTW, Many brokers list things on eBay; boats, cars, planes, etc. check it out.

  3. Can you dig any deeper to try and make an issue out of nothing? Geeezzz!

  4. As I recall, they put the plane on EBAY but it didn't sell.

    Then the broker came in.

I was living up there at the time.

  5. There we're many lies/slanders in the speech, check'em out!

  6. I think Quaylin is completely unfit to be VP, but that said i think her slight exageration was simply a harmless embelishment to make a point.  They did list the plane on eBay twice but it didn't sell so they resorted to selling it in a differnt manner. The point is that she did get rid of it to save money for the state.

That said, I think Caribou Barbie is a dangerous, unqualified, vindictive, hypocritical, self-aggrandizing, opportunist who never should have been chosen.

  7. Good republican, selling a million dollar airplane. Being a millionaire she fits right into the click.  Po folk. Well I bought the dam plane if you have to know.  It had a terrible smell of moose and Carl, what ever his last name is. I had to sell it to a K st. lobbyist.  He said he needed it to help Bush move books to the Bush Library. I never saw so many 6 grade storey books and hooked on phonics, in the same place in my life.  Had to make two trips.

  8. The mention of Ebay really got the crowd roaring. They think she's hip, cool.  She knows what EBAY is!  She's one of them!  She's awesome! blah blah blah

  9. One of Palin's campaign promises was to sell the plane, since it was costing the taxpayers thousands of dollars a month. She vowed never to use it. It was indeed "put on eBay" as she stated, but did not sell. A broker eventually found a buyer, and they sold it for slightly below market value. The news report documenting the fact that it was listed on eBay is found below. Some news reporters and others who don't know the whole story have assumed that it sold there, but that is not accurate. It's a bit extreme to try to spin this a lie by Palin, since she's never stated that it did sell there.

  10. She did put it on ebay, it just didn't sell.

  11. She didn't lie. You're just too lazy to do your own research and take the headline from some dumb liberal blogger.

  12. Truth is, your question contains the "small falsehood."

She never clained that she sold the plane on EBay - only that she put it on EBay , and that's a fact.

  13. It was a joke.

  14. It sounded more like a joke to me when she said it.  But it was probably a little irresponsible to crack jokes of this sort when most people don't know her well enocugh to know when she's joking.

  15. She actually said she 'put it' on ebay.  For mature people, it was just a funny joke.  But I really do take offense to this issue, because it's completely nonsensical and childish and even liberal-leaning news agencies, who probably said much less about a presidential candidate having a mentor of 20 years who says the USA supports state terrorism again the Palestinians, are making a huge deal out of it.

It's official, you liberals have gone completely off the deep end.  Very sad.

  16. She probably doesn't know how to use the internet herself.

  17. It was proven true she put it up for sale on Ebay. When it was not sold then a broker sold it.

    Palin quote:

"That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay."

  18. Palin also quipped that she made a profit when she sold it on Ebay, but her secretary admitted that they did lose $600,000 selling it.

It seems like everything about this person is a lie or a giant exageration.

  19. Let me help you understand the point.  She got rid of an expense that wasn't needed thus saving the taxpayers money.  OK, understand now?  Hope I helped.

  20. Yahoo did an article yesterday about that (and other things she said in her speech) anyway they stated that yes she tried twice to sell the plane on ebay but no bids met the minimum bid.  So she wound up selling it at a half million dollar loss to somebody for 1.2 million.

Palin claimed that the plane was a luxery item that her state didn't need and was trying to find ways to save money.

  21. just another in her long list of lies...PS to republicans "half truths" are lies too
