Hamas will accept a Palestinian state on the 1967 Borders.

Hamas will recognize Israel right to exist if Israel recognizes the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

Hamas will respect a Palestinian referendum out come on the final peace agreement with Israel even if they do not support it.

A Palestinian national government without both Hamas and Fatah participation.

This proposal was delivered to the Israeli government by President Carter this morning.

  1. This sounds, on the face of it a very reasonable proposal, however I cannot see Israel accepting it as they will lose a lot of land stolen from the Palestinians since 1967. I have always argued that Israel should return to their original borders given to them by the UN shortly after WW2.At least Jimmy Carter has come up with a plan which previous negotiators failed to do.

  2. THE ORIGINAL SIN:

"Should we be unable to find a way to honest cooperation and honest pacts with the Arabs, then we have learned absolutely nothing during our 2,000 years of suffering and deserve all that will come to us."

    Albert Einstein

"...If we had invested in the Arab problem one tenth of the energy, the passion, the ingenuity, the resourcefulness which we developed in order to gain the support of Britain, France, the US and Weimar Germany, our destiny in the development of Israel may have been quite different... We were not ready for compromises; we did not make sufficient efforts to get, if not the full agreement of the Arabs, at least their acquiescence to a Jewish state, which I think would have been possible. That was the original sin."

    Dr. Nahum Goldmann

President of the World Jewish Congress

    writing in the New Outlook,

    November-December 1974

  3. i think it is like any other peace proposal they come up with, mere words and not worth the paper it is printed on...

    carter is a fraud......

  4. I wonder how many times, in how many different sections, this asker has posted the same question.

The impasse reached in Hamas-Egyptian truce talks, the failure of former US president Jimmy Carter’s mediation bids with Hamas and Syrian leaders, together with the presence in the region of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, all contribute to the scaling up of violence.

Tehran and Damascus believe that warfare - not only on the Gaza-Israel border, but also in Iraq and Lebanon – will work best for their interests at two important Middle East encounters this week at which Secretary Rice will be present.

And about the peanut king, after shuttling between Riyadh, Jerusalem, Damascus and Amman – and two long conversation with Hamas leaders in the Syrian capital - former U.S. president Jimmy Carter reported Monday, April 21 that the Palestinian terrorist group had turned down his proposal for a 30-day unilateral ceasefire.

So Hamas is not exactly interested in recognizing Israel.

  5. Like I said in an earlier post, I will believe it when I see some real peace down there, until then I believe it all a bunch of poppy c**k.
