What do you think of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince being delayed?????

Any does anyone know why its been delayed?

its coming out July 17 2009 now and im not even sure if thats the australian date!

Who cares?  The movie will still rake in a ton of money, despite being a lousy adaptation of the novel.  Will it really matter if you have to wait an extra 7 months for the premiere?  

If the studio is smart, they will be filming the Deathly Hallows right now before the actors start dying of old age.

I am not happy over it.  I usually get the day off from 4 kids to go see the Harry Potter Movie for my Brithday.  Now I can not do that becuase it is not July.

it's pretty annoying. they say that summertime is a better time to release such a big movie, and they said that this year has so many big movies (dark knight, mummy, *gag* twilight) that they think maybe they should move one of them to next year. they're calling it the "tentpole" of 2009 movies...

it's pretty crappy, but look on the bright side. if you're planning to go to the midnight show (like meee) then it won't be on a school night...and you won't have to wait in the winter.

still sucks though :(

warner bros. says the delay is for marketing reasons.

but i'm rather excited its being delayed. twilight is now coming out three weeks early and taking its place. i cant wait! ^_^

its being pushed back because wb thinks they can get more money if they releases it in the holidays were there will be no other big budget films, its all about the $$$

To some degree, that success motivated Warner to shift "Half-Blood Prince," Horn said. The film will now hit theaters the same midsummer weekend that "Dark Knight" was released this year. Horn said the young, core Potter audience would be out of school and give the film a longer theatrical life. It will now open opposite Universal's special-effects comedy "Land of the Lost," which stars Will Ferrell. But Horn said there was nothing next year compared to this summer's especially dense slate of big-budget releases.

as for the Australian release dates I looked up my local movie center and it said it is being released on the 16-7-09
