What do you think of Ireland? please answer!?

Im just wondering because im Irish but ive never been out of Ireland so I dont know what people really think of here. I want your honest opinion, thanks.

I was on holidays in Ireland for 3 weeks recently and I noticed the pace of life is so much slower then in England. People have more time for each other in Ireland and the scenery is fabulous.

Everyone is so friendly and nice.  The country is beautiful...the scenery is magnificent!!!  I have an Irish background, so I really enjoy just the overall atmosphere of the country.  Of course, I always think of beer too...and golf  ...and the little old men in the pubs!

As much as I love it, I think I would probably be bored living there.  I currently live near NYC (not that I really like NYC)....but I'm just used to a different lifestyle.  

My sister taught at an Irish school this past year in Blackrock and absolutely loved it....even wants to move back!  So I was able to visit and drive around the country....we had a great time!

I love the cities of Dublin, Cork and Tralee, the towns of Killarney and Kildare.  The countryside around the ring of Kerry and the Gap of Dunlow (not sure of the spelling) is stunning.  The food is amazing (that seafood, the boxties (again spelling?) and even the gammon and cabbage.  Love red lemonade, Bulmer's cider, Poiteen, Sweet Afton cigarettes.  The coast leading down from Dublin is lovely.  Ireland is lovely.

I've been to Ireland three times travelling around most of it and it's my favourite place in the world. The people are more relaxed and friendly than in England, everyone says hello to you. The air is fresh, it's diverse and beautiful and the girls are s**y and witty. I think I like the west coast most, especially Connemara which is just amazing. Of the big cities, I like Kilkenny. There is just so much to do in Ireland. I'd like to live there one day.

I think That Ireland is an ok place  Be nice to vist it. Espically on St. Patricks That way you could see how many people would pinch you.

Before I went abroad to work, I lived in Dublin all my life and loved it.

I then moved to work in West Africa for 3 years. When I returned, I saw Dublin from a different perspective. You want an honest answer.. here it is...

It's a very expensive city, though You have to know where to go to get the bargains.

The people are on the whole friendly, AFTER you've made friends with them. They're friendly, but to a point.

There is a lot of racism I didn't like, but never noticed before. Maybe incidents increased a lot?

Love the architecture, art galleries and museums, and places to go and things to see.

DO NOT like the pubs and clubs at night. I no longer feel safe.  

On the whole, I like my city. You just have to be careful, and try to avoid looking at it through rose tinted glasses.

The country as a whole... Bus Eireann use first class coaches, which is great. (A big difference to West African public transport!)

I really really missed the green countryside!

I think to appreciate our country a lot more, you would have to live abroad for a short time, like I did, and then return.

It's pretty and green. The country is small. I'm irish but I've only seen pictures. It looks beautiful there!

I've been out of Ireland many times, and if you are friendly and polite, they love you wherever you go. Seriously.

Princess Tudor: I'm afraid you're not Irish dear, you're something with Irish ancestry, but that doesn't mean your Irish. Not like us.

Oh I have a great fondness for the place, my family emigrated to England during the famine but us future generations have always been made aware and made proud of our Irish ancestry. In actual fact i'm going to Dublin for my birthday. And the Irish are great too, some of the funniest people I know are from your green green grass.

Speaking as a Los Angeles native, we tend to think of Ireland as very green and beautiful, filled with lots of friendly people who love their beer and whiskey.

Personally, there's nothing sexier than an Irish man smiling at me and making me laugh.

I love Ireland

Great place, plenty of greenery, nice people, great food.

plenty of nice country roads.

More layed back and less of a hurry than England.

Don't be in a hurry to go abroad until you seen all the corners of Ireland !

Dublin is a fabulous city that I just don't get enough opportunity to visit. I have 2 Irish male friends and they are wonderful, love them both to pieces!

I like Ireland, I like the people, the traditional food, the language and the countryside.

I have friends in England who come here quite often. The pace of life is slower. Everyone is more laid back and friendlier and have time for each other. The food taste better and the guinness one of them tells me is smoother and creamier then in England. I am living here myself over 40 years and never had any problems with it but like you I pass no remarks on it. When friends come to stay with me from England they never stop telling me how good it is here. It is so good they come 3 times a year and stay a month each time. So I think the grass is greener here.

Half our team. The Manager. The Chairman. Probably the tea lady, are all Irish lol

Love the people and the country. Great fishing and shooting. Always a welcome in the hotels and pubs. Great food. Did I mention the Guinness? Have spent years working in Ireland on and off.

Well, I grew up in Northern Ireland and because of the troubles never ventured anywhere near or past the border. I also had no intention of leaving the North.

But then I moved to London for work and spent 3 years there, all the time wishing I was back in Belfast.

They then asked me to go to Dublin for 6 weeks to complete a project which I did

8 YEARS later, here I am still... I love it! From the second I stepped foot in Ireland it felt like home - a real home. The people are just lovely, the scenery spectacular, the nightlife and culture captivating..

There is just something about Ireland that is addictive! You come, you fall in love and you stay.

I think once you visit Ireland, part of you never leaves
