  1. Nice, I went there on holiday once.

  2. Jamaica is great and I love it

  3. It was never on my list of places to go, but I went to Negril and just fell in love with the place.

    IT IS A MUST GO!!!!

  4. Well my parents are Jamaicans, I lived in Jamaica for 6 years and go back 3 to 4 times a year. I have nothing but positive things to say about Jamaica. I was there in December and I notice there is a lot of positive programs that are available for the elderly and young people but the media overshadow it with the crime.

  5. I've never been, but it's always been on my list of places I would love to go...

  6. Jamaica is great, I love living there.

Like anywhere else, Jamaica has its problems, but it is really a paradise in many other ways.

  7. I hear alot about Jamaica. I hear it has some nice beaches and lots of great sites for tourists there! I also hear that it has ALOT of violence too and i do NOT want to go there for vacation and have to fear for my life. I expect to have a good time there and a safe return to my home in the USA if i plan on visiting Jamaica one day.

  8. I was born and raised in Jamaica ! I live in America now ! Jamaica is a wonderful place. The tourists section will obviously be better than the residential area ! Jamaica has it upscale and it ghetto ! Like everywhere else in the world. Like America, they have the suburban areas they are nice the middle class areas are OK and then there the GHETTO which we can find everywhere. In ghettos we ALways find violence and crime. so I don't see where they say Jamaica is filled with violence. Jamaican ghettos are not filled with al violence we have smart and intelligent people! The problem is that the government won't help the poor like in America, the government does not help the poor . In regards to what they show on TV, they show the good and the bad !

  9. Jamaica.Its so good.

I didn't think it would be as good as i thought it was. I went on holiday there and i can honestly say its the best place i have been.

The resort and everything was so nice and the people are all really friendly!

I am definitely going back one day!!

So my attitude towards your country is that its amazzinngg

    :D

  10. I absolutely love it - fell in love about 3 years ago (my first time there).  I am leaving on Wednesday for a week to visit friends that I have made while I was on vacation a couple years ago.  We have kept in touch and spent time with them when I was there in Feb.  I am toying around with the idea of moving down there.  I am a teacher and am thinking I might like to teach there...  any thoughts or suggestions???

  11. Well I have never been there, however you always here about people going to Jamaica and saying they had a good time- however like one other person said it might just be because of the resorts- not the "real" Jamaica. I would like to know why is it that anyone who is not from the Caribbean thinks Jamaica is the only island worth visiting- I mean you whenever you hear about tourists visiting the Caribbean it is always Jamaica- the Caribbean has many islands- why not enjoy the others.

  12. i recently got engaged and i would love to get married there. would love a holiday to jamaica. gorgeous!!! x

  13. i loved it went in oct 2007 lovely weather beaches and people x

  14. my wife & i were married in jamaica in sept 1998 & had  a great time but did have some problems. please see below a list of observations.

1.on landing at montego bay we had no idea what was happening & the second we set foot outside the terminal we were set upon by men wanting to carry our bags who were very agressive. i'm a big bloke & even i found it slighlty disconcerting.

2.the hotel we stayed at (couples ocho rios) was great, the staff/food/location were all excellent but i got the feeling that i was not seeing the real jamaica.

3.when we left the hotel on anything but an organised trip we were pestered by men wanting to sell us things. like at the airport i dealt with it but my wife said she would not have felt safe on her own or with another woman.

4.the countryside is beautiful. we went to a plantation in the blue mountains & it was the most beautiful place i've ever been.

5.the black river safari is superb. we did a tour of the south coast & this was the highlight . seeing the crocodiles is something i will never forget.

6.the people  working at our hotel & on the organaised trips  were great & they couldn't do enough for us but some(though not all by any means) of the people we encountered were very agressive in trying to sell us things.

7.we were told not to go outside our hotel after dark due to safety concens & this is the main reason i wouldn't go back.

in conclusion we had a great time. the island itself(beaches, countyside, rivers etc) is beautiful.the food & drink are great(red stripe, salt fish & akee, curried goat & jerk chicken yum!!) however the main problem is the people , most of the people are great but the minority really spoil it, you want to relax on holiday not continually getting hassled , i realise the people are poor but surely more people would go if you could set foot outside your hotel safely.

p.s. forgot to say i've been to cuba, tobago, mexico, gambia & morrocco &  could go go out with of the hotel much easier in these countries & faced less agression than in jamaica.

give me thumbs down but i am only telling the truth!!

  15. It's really HOT but the people are generally friendly.

  16. I think it is a work in progress and jamaicans need to take there country into there own hands and stop wait pon we one a nodder!

    :)
