Do you think 20 months as governor of Alaska gives her the experience to potentially lead one of the world's super powers?

  1. how much experience as Obama got (or for that matter McCain & Beiden).

in reality THE person being elected is the president, the VP is often wndow dressing, to appeal to other geographical and or political demographics. its very common for a northern presidential candidate to find a VP candidate from the south, or East meets west.

I suspect she was selected  in part because she's a women, possibly in a cynical move to appeal to those who were "Hilary or nothing". but the reality is that Palin doens't support the permissive agenda of Clinton, shes anti abortion/pro life, anti gun contrl and varius other causes which may fal to gel with the wimmins consensus that formed behind clinton.

Her relative lack of experience will only become a serious issue if McCain dies or is incapacitated and she has to become President..

As I read it all 4 are relatively inexperienced, MCain less so, then Beiden.

  2. A great choice. She will make defeating obama easy.

  3. I think her lack of experience will be her downfall. I hardly think she can defeat Obama. But let's see. And she's not that pretty, I think she's ok in a hot mom sorta way. :p

I'm hating the hype shes getting, McCain blasts Obama for  "Being a celebrity" while his new running mate is what? Talking about her daughter's IRRELEVANT pregnancy... She does not represent all women in the United States, she does not nearly come close. Some of us are pro-choice and know the difference between political and personal.

  4. do you think being a Governor is an easy job? shes dealing with a budget passing  bills and such . shes also in control of the national guard in her state. that more then obama has done

  5. In Alaska, Governor Palin challenged a corrupt system and passed a landmark ethics reform bill. She has actually used her veto and cut budgetary spending. She put a stop to the 'bridge to nowhere' that would have cost taxpayers $400 million dollars.

  6. All political 'experts' agree that governors have more executive experience than senators, similar to a president of a small country. Obama has been running for president since 2004, he has talking experience. I think McCain made a mistake in picking her though. But then I'm not that fond of McCain either.

  7. Why not?  Are you saying that women don't have the brains to run a country?  She is running for VP not President she will gain a lot of experience, I for one am very impressed with her abilities and she would do just fine.

  8. the vp seat is not and should not be looked at as on the job training.

so no i don't think she is qualified.

  9. I think it's a very interesting choice, as a lot of the Hillary voters who don't know what to do may now be tempted to vote for McCain so they can at least get a woman in office.

George Bush didn't exactly have experience leading one of the world's superpowers either...

  10. Its quality not quantity that counts!!!

To be honest, I think they make a very good team

him - mature in years, reaches a wide spectrum of voters

her - family orientated, wholesome, hard working, young, fresh ideas, reaches the entire female population - you cant help but like her

barack should have chosen Hillary, but then would you really want the competition nipping at your ankles!!

The american people are not ready for a female president yet for a number of reasons, but they will certainly change their minds if john and co get in!!

    hope they make it!!

  11. He did what he had to do. Everyone that was voting for Hilary because she was a woman will now vote for McCain because he has a woman vice president.

    I'd say nice choice.

  12. Unfortunately no.

John McCain selected Palin,One to attempt to steal away some number of Hilary Clinton supporters whilst remaining loyal to the conservative arm of his party and secondly because he was advised against Mitch Romney his ideal selection, because of his checkered past with drugs at college.

Ultimately I think her selection although it may have short-term gains in the mid-western states and perhaps the Eastern Seaboard it will prove to be a mistake. After all McCain is 72 and has had medical issues in the past and if he should have a heart-attack or stroke with the stress of high office,I don't think most Americans would trust a person of her experience to run one of the remaining super-powers.

  13. i think i am horny for her
