What do you think of Jonathan Toews being named chicagos captian?

They have been hinting this since the middle of last season. Every week win or lose veterans seemed to respect him and quote him warmly in the papers. His nickname "Mr Serious" from the veterans last year sure showed up when he came from injury to help a seemingly perennial bottom dweller this past decade get closer to the playoffs than they have in some time. I could not be happier to see this young hawks forward take ownership of the captaincy.

They're sending a message to him and to everyone else that he's their franchise guy. Obviously the scenario is somewhat similar as to when Crosby was named captain of the pens. It's a lot of pressure to put on a young kid but he's a great player and a great guy so hopefully it works out and is one of the first steps to Chicago's return to being a cup contender

Toews totally deserves it. He is a great team leader. He's more than proved his value. It was a great move.
