  1. Carlton have a long history of having over-priced, under-performing players, so why not?  And hey, don't get me too wrong here, Judd is a good/great player but he's not the answer to Carlton's problems.  Like Geelong last year, they have the players but they have attitude problems.  I'm repeating myself a lot but I would be very hesitant taking him on and the Pies have the players and the attitude without him, they just need strength and experience.

  2. i didnt really care since Richmond were contenders but i would of put my money on the pies.  I think carlton had more to offer and dont be suprised if favola aint there next year which gives the blues more money to play with.  thats my bet

  3. Judd's favourite song is Abba's, "Money, Money, Money".

He is single mindedly driven by the thought of the dollar - nothing else!

  4. Judd's decision to want to go to Carlton is all about dollars!

I hope the Eagles stay firm & refuse to do a deal. Then he will have to go into the draft if he wants to leave that club.

Richmond, who have first pick in the draft, could select him & Judd would then get the basic Richmond club payment - about one quarter of what he would receive from Carlton if a deal is done.

    He's a money hungry mummy's boy!

  5. He so did it for the money ! As i saw in the herald sun his house was huge . He probaly has to pay it off.

  6. i think they'll still be a lousy team

  7. First I heard of it!

Oh well, he had to go somewhere!

I am actually glad Eddie wasn't able to wave his magic millions at Chris Judd!

You can't buy everything! especially not a premiership, as Eddie has found out!!!

  8. SURPRISED, was my initial reaction, Carlton dont exactly have the facilities the Lexus centre have, he canned Essendon & Melbourne for their facilities. My money was on the Pies getting him, if you have ever seen inside Collingwoods Gym /Training area, you would know what i mean, it's FAR SUPERIOR to anything any other club has.

    GO LIONS

  9. To me it seems a little surprising he chose Carlton before Collingwood.      He played in the last 2 Grand finals before this year with the Eagles, and I would have thought,he had a better chance, looking forward, of achieving same with  the Pies, considering they finished the best performed team in the finals this year after the Premiers Geelong  ..   We the footy public know little of the real back room deals and going's on  but while Judd Is still only 24, I cant see Carlton rising to Grand Final status, let alone a PREMIERSHIP.in the near future.     It took Geelong 7 years to rise to their current status, they will remain the team to beat for a number of years,  and I cant see the Blues rising to be become their equal or better with their current list, even with JUDD included.   It just seems to me, Judd who has already achieved a Brownlow and Premiership medalion, is simply just

happy to return home, play out his remaining years and secure his "finnacial future" for himself and his management , thanks to Mr Pratt.     It is obviously dissapointing for all Collingwood supporters that their CEO, when the season began, is also the same man now as Blues CEO, who has helped them gain Australia's so called best player !

  10. Apparently, Carlton offered their 3rd draft pick with a player.  They said that they wouldn't trade their #1 draft pick.  On the news today, it said that West Coast would only trade Judd for Carlton's #1 draft pick.

I guess we'll see what happens...

  11. good so west coast dont win the premier ship GO HAWKS!!!!!!

  12. when all is said and done

he knows who the best is

  13. I wasn't really that surprised. I knew he would choose Carlton. The choice is good for him (money wise) and for his old club West Coast in draft picks. The thing that really surprised me was that if Judd choose Carlton which he did that they would be willing to assign him captain which is a very big opportunity for Judd.

sorry i have to agree with demon guy GO HAWKS!

  14. I do not understand Judd's decision to name Carlton as his team of choice.  I think the possibilty of Collingwood having premiership success in the next 5 years is more likely than Carlton achieving the same.  Having said that however, last year I would not have tipped Geelong to play off in a grand final any time soon.  Maybe Carlton will be the surprise packet next year.  I also believe Collingwood's training facilities and club management to be superior to most clubs in the league.

Whilst Judd has named Carlton his team of choice, a deal still needs to be done and I foresee a stumbling block revolving around the Number 1 draft pick.  West Coast will obviously want sufficient remuneration for a player the calibre of Judd, and I would believe they may want a deal consisting of Draft picks 1 & 3 and a player... Maybe Fevola to play in combination with big Lynch.  Or a youngster like Gibbs or Carrazzo.

Another Melbourne based team may still pick Judd up without using high priority draft picks.  Any deal would probably include a couple of players and a lower pick.

It remains to be seen how it all pans out.  I know I, and probably millions of other Australians, will be watching secretly hoping he is picked up by the team I support, which just happens to be the Pies!
