What do you think of Mayor Ken's proposed 20mph speed limit?

I completely understand why it should be 20mph next to schools as I am a Mum, but I tried driving at 20mph on the way home from work and if there was a slight incline, my car could hardly get up the hill and I didn't leave second gear. I spent most of the drive looking at the speedo which is surely more dangerous.

I think 30mph is perfectly okay and 20mph is okay along with speed bumps by schools.

  1. the man's an egotistical fascist. vote johnson, londoners!!!

  2. 20mph is a bit OTT..especially if you have a small engine. From my experience pedestrians (and i speak for myself) are just as bad if not more of a danger than drivers. Look at football matches, the fans feel the need to weave in and out of moving cars..I mean why? x

  3. Using Red Kens logic, why doesn't he just ban the car?

Seriously though, it's just plain stupid, talk about causing congestion, and of course  POLLUTION!! Fuel consumption would go sky high.

Ignore it, let every vote with their accelerator.

My journey to work, 27 miles, takes an hour. That's 27 mph average speed!

Please DO NOT VOTE HIM, BUT DO VOTE.

  4. Red Ken has shown repeatedly he is anti-cars, so anything like that is hardly surprising.

However, 20mph around schools, etc is a good idea, we have it in operation all over the place up in Scotland, and i fully agree with that.

I am surprised you can get over 20 in London tho!

  5. Any increase in the speed of traffic in London would be welcomed ;-)

  6. I would like to see us go back to the days of a man walking in front of your vehicle waving a flag to warn pedestrians..... and the i would like to see how the goverment is going to get the man power to enforce it.

As far as im concerned- keep knocking the speed limits down in the name of safety, traffic calming and  knock the fuel prices up and up ... and lets see what happens lol

  7. WOW! you managed to get up to 2nd gear - in London!

  8. He's an anti motorist t!t; and ripping all you Londoners right off - but you keep voting him Mayor!

    I reckon he's rigging votes..

  9. As i don't live in London,  not a lot.

  10. It's a good idea so long as it's in small, confined areas where it is necessary. The trouble is - these things go beyond the necessary.
