Sarah Palin is not well known outside of Alaska and has little experience. Does McCain think he can swing disgruntled Hillary supporters his way? Would she be able to take on the presidency should McCain not fulfill his term?

  1. I would have prefered that he pick Romney, but McCain is a gambler and he could turn out to be crazy like a fox. This election just got even more interesting. The plot thickens....

  2. I think it was an excellent choice. I saw her picture and I heard her acceptance speech and I have to say I have fell in love with her. I think she will win many people over during the campaign.

  3. I think it was a very wise choice on his part, And she has more leadership experience than Obama does so I think this is a very good pick for McCain. And like ole boy said up there the more I get to know about her the more I like her.

  4. Interesting choice and very savvy pick. She does have experience, she can bring in conservatives and women. Actually its inspired. I think we have a interesting race ahead and hopefully debates. Watch for the old guys to talk turkey on issues requiring great experience and the youngsters to play rock...scissors....paper, sorry about the last comment, I just couldn't resist.

  5. He's obviously pandering to the disgruntled Hillary supporters with this pick. I just hope when it gets time to vote in November that people wise up and realize that the VP doesn't actually hold as much importance AFTER the election and still remember who exactly is going to be president.

  6. the more i know here the more I love her..great pick!

  7. At least she has experience, is educated, has a well educated background, doesnt have a name of two well known terrorists, has no real estate fraud convicts backing her and is very proper.

  8. McCain can no longer attack Obama on inexperience.

  9. I have just got the straight skinny on all this, and it's that six, and maybe seven, potential veeps turned down McCain, referring to this as an unwinnable election for Republicans. After a final, desperate "Who can I ask/beg now?" snit by McCain, someone mentioned Palin to him, and McCain had to be reminded who she is (the current Alaska governor). The feeling is that, since she has no credentials, throwing her under the bus of sure defeat will have little effect on her, since no one knows her anyhow, and it might get her some name recognition. Doing a search on her on Wikipedia, one of McCain's aids discovered she was a beauty pageant entrant, which "perked up" McCain a bit, he added with a knowing wink.
