What do you think of NSP boards?

I've only surfed a couple of times and loved it, but now that I live on the beach I want to actually buy a board. I've seen NSP and they're cheap enough for me to afford and they're bulletproof, but I've been told I will hate it as soon as I get any better.

  1. NSP boards are the main boards used by a lot of shops that rent  surf boards they are cheap, they can take a beating but they are sluggish, when you do get better  you find that they lack the performance you want from a board

  2. I guess it depends upon what you are looking for in a board.  They are pretty much indestructible but they are not high performance boards.  They would be good to learn on though.  The fact that they don't ding means that they will actually hold their value pretty well so when you do finally tire of it and want to upgrade you can still get some decent trade or resale value out of it.

Did you post this on Swaylocks the other day?

  3. they are great to learn on and have as a first board, at this point you dont know what you want in a board, i taught my cousin on an NSP 8'6 and he did fantastic its better than a soft top board, the NSP right now he is riding on 3-6 foot waves. he still doesnt know if he wants to get a shorter board or long board, but seriously if you can afford it do it, i wish they had those boards when i started to learn
