What do you think of Paris Hilton's energy plan?

"Barack wants to focus on new technologies to cut foreign oil dependency, and McCain wants offshore drilling. Well, why don't we do a hybrid of both candidates' ideas? We can do limited offshore drilling with strict environmental oversight while creating tax incentives to get Detroit making hybrid and electric cars. That way, the offshore drilling carries us untill the new technologies kick in, which will then create new jobs and energy independence. Energy crisis solved."

It's the same as John McCain's energy plan.  The media just doesn't focus on the part of his plan that calls for developing new technologies.

Sounds like a solid plan.  Sounds alot like McCains plan.  Somthing for the short term and something for the long term.  Ultimately we have to ween the country off of its oil dependency or this problem will continue to rear its ugly head.  Counting on someone else for our oil ultimately gives us little countrol over prices and market supply.  

I dont think there is any plan that is going to please everyone.  As an avid beachgoer and surfer, I cant say that I'm thrilled at the idea of staring at oil derricks while I surf.  However, I think we are left with little alternative if we want to stop depending so much on foreign oil.  The only other real alternative would be to tap into the HUGE reserves in the ANWR, but that doesn't sound fun either.  Either way, I hope that a reasonable solution is reached... Im not real keen on paying 4.25 a gallon at the pump

I think it's a great energy plan, it's too bad she didn't come up with it on her own, she had a good writer.
