  1. It's hard to say what the people are like because they never get a chance to speak.

But the House of Saud are a bunch of self serving, money grubbing Plutocrats who care nothing for their People and openly pander to the worst excesses of Fundamentalists in order to placate big Religion and keep the masses down.

Kinda like the US Republicans, who scurry to do their bidding in return for their generosity, even at the expense of US interests.

  2. Saudi Arabia has a rich history and home of the two holiest places in Islamic history, Mecca & Medina, which Muslims all over try to make the pilgrimage to. Other significances is that SA has ALOT of petroleum (largest in the world I think) so obviously the US is very much interested in maintaining "friendly" relationships with the Saudi royal family. Unfortunately, while the large royal family remains rich, get monthly allowances, flies in jets and  live in palaces, the average Saudi doesn't get to enjoy much of the wealth. I think Saudi Arabia gets a bad rep because its where Wahhabism-a conservative, back to basic sect of Islam- grew up and Bin Ladin is aligned with Wahhabi ideology. It's easier for us to generalize and believe in negative stereotypes of people from far away than to actually read up on other culture and think with an open mind and heart. Since I don't know any Saudis or traveled there, I can't express a valid opinion on a whole race.

  3. The people are probably like anywhere else victims of the Govt's goodness or badness.

We live in such a finite world with finite lives and all some leaders think is important is control and greed.

I wish one abundant world leader would be a role model and talk sense to these ones that want wars that will end up in devastation.  They're forgetting God has  plans too.

  4. As Bush would say, they "harbor terrists."  And they are Bush's friends.  Nuff said.

  5. Never been there but people are just like any other people anywhere

  6. The government is corrupt; Saudi citizens were more responsible for 9/11 than any other nationality; they manipulate our foreign policy while laughing at us; we should have invaded their country or Syria or Iran well before entering this mess in Iraq.

  7. I think they are smart. They own 6% of America pretty much. I don't completly agree with their culture, but I didn't grow up in it. It's a county that America must keep as a friend.

  8. They and their kingdom is comprised of a bunch of Extremist Muslims that would like nothing better than to see Israel and the Western world fail, but they pretend to be our friends.

They smile in our face while devising our demise.

  9. I'm not a big fan of the Saudi royal family, truth be told.

  10. They are all right but they dont know how to party and the women definetly cant hold their whiskey.

  11. Two faces, one for the west and the other for the terrorist.

  12. It is sad that once again we are forced to support a corrupt dictatorship.  The alternative is unthinkable because of the importance of oil.  What this country needs to do is implement a crash program to get independent of oil. The politicians are too corrupt to push the programs and the people tolerate it instead of pushing the issue.  We could have a much better world if the US did not need so much oil.  Our economy is getting weaker all the time by the oil imports and the reduction of production of goods for export.
