Natural gas prices have risen recently due to the fact they have built several natural gas powered electric plants. I think he is on to a good idea. What do you think?

  1. Assuming you mean the stuff discussed on http://www.pickensplan.com

It seems decent enough.  It's not really new ideas, just old ideas that haven't been applied due to oil being cheap enough not to have to think of alternatives, and the political influence of the oil industry.

IMO, there's no really good reason to use fossil fuels to create electricity.  Setting up a lot of wind farms would do the job easy and let us save the fossil fuels for cars, which need to carry their fuel around with them instead of being connected to the grid.

  2. A natural gas powered electric plant is still a joke. The future is in mining Helium-3 from the moon. A single load in the Space Shuttle could power the United States for a Year. And with zero emissions.

  3. Please people, don't be so easily led. This guy has more going on than Windmills. He has been trying to TAKE thousands of acres of privately owned ranch lands in Texas for several years now through Eminent Domain . This is about water rights and his desire to pump water out of Ogallala reservoir and sell it to Dallas for a profit. He wants to run the power along the same pipe line as the water. He is an exploiter who uses his pull in Congress for his own benefit.  I'm not saying wind power can't help but this guy needs to be recognized for what he is and not a hero.
