What do you think of Tony Stewert leving Joe Gibbs raceing. is it smart for him or not. Is it going to be weird to see him in a different car besides the Home Depot # 20?

  1. Tony Stewart wants to get as far away from Hamlin and Busch as he can. Then he's going to get crazy on the track. Just like old times!

  2. It's Stewart, not Stewert.

It was the best move for him. He's accomplished alot in his career, it was time for something more challenging, good for him. He'll be fine.

  3. good move, GO CHEVY

  4. Bone head move. He will never win another cup. I was hoping he would break Gordons cup win total. i thought he had the best chance. Apparently that will be done the 48 car.

  5. Stewart!

    Anyway...

I think it's great that he made the move! This is something that he wants to do and he's going right along with it like he wants to. And it probably will be weird to see him in a different car, but I think it will be pretty neat seeing him racing the 14 :)

  6. It,s a great idea!!!Tony is a smart cat,he,ll do just fine...I have no worries about his future!!!!

  7. i just hope he doesn't call me up and ask me to help him move. i hate when that happens. he and mark martin are just going to have to hire movers...

    ;-)

seriously, i was unsure at first, but i think it's the best thing for him. go now while he's still got that fire and take an opportunity of a lifetime - half a team with that much financial backing just to drive for them - and still be the highest paid driver in the series. with chevy and hendrick behind him, and all the respect others in the garage have for him, he could put together one mean team - or at least go down swinging...

  8. I think he has already achieved most of the things a driver can achieve, and therefore he wants a new challenge, and that challenge will be to keep winning races in a team built by him.

I'm sure it will be tough at the beginning, but once he starts winning again he can be proud of the fact that he was the key factor to achieve that.

Besides, it was a business too good not to take. Getting 50% ownership of a company without having to pay a cent is not something you find everyday.

  9. I THINK IT WAS NOW OR NEVER 4 TONY TWO OWN HIS OWN CUP TEAM.IT WILL BE HOWEVER WEIRD TO SEE HIM IN THE FAMOUS 14 BUT ILL GET USE TWO IT JUST LIKE JRS 88.

  10. It was a great move. I knew smoke wouldn't drive a Toyota for long, He has alot of sponcership from Chevy

  11. my dad is a really big fan of him! i think it would be weird seeing him in a different car bc thats the one hes had since he has been racing..i dont think he should leave joe gibbs racing but ya know its up to him!

    hope i helped u some!

  12. It'll definitely be weird, but who could pass up free majority ownership of a racing team just race for them? Plus since he's majority owner, I would think he could say who he wants to race for, and if he doesn't want to race for himself, then he doesn't have to. I know he wouldn't just swoop in, take over, then driver for someone else right away, but it's still an option.

  13. BLAH!

  14. I think he made a good move for his age..I can't wait to see if he can control his temper as a cup car owner..

  15. I'm not really sure. I see it more as one of Tony Stewart perhaps preparing for his career afer he's done racing...i.e., he won't be racing much longer and may be hanging the helmet up after a few more years.

  16. I think its a great move. Hes taking over a team that is great resources and with the money and effort that Tony will put in, this team can be real successful. Look at what he has done with Eldora, it may not be immediate success but his team will be really good. And Stewart has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Ryan Newman to be his teammate, watch out...

  17. I think it will work out in the long run. It will be weird to see him not in the home depot. You associate different drivers with aponsers, just like Jr and Budweiser. We'll get used to it

  18. He got guts. . . . running with Joe Gibbs in a top team it takes a lot of guts to leave and start up on your own.

I'm going to miss him in the Home Depot car but hey, the sponsors don't make the driver.

Smoke will once again be smoking . . . .

  19. It's like any other big decision in life...do it now or maybe wish that you had.

Tony wants his own track and his own team. he has his own track.  Now with this team his dreams are coming true.  It's a good move for him and I know it had to be a hard decision to leave a winning team and strike out on his own.

  20. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

No, unless he gets Newman then hes stuck with no shows next year.

haha how g*y would that be if he missed a race because of owner points or he went financially bankrupt

heck, all i care about now is next years Gibbs team

My boy Denny, 2008 champ Kyle "Rowdy" Busch, and Longshot Rookie Joey Logano. good times

  21. I think it will be wierd, but I think Jr.'s move and that big change will soften the blow for true Tony fans. I haven't been a big Stewart fan until now. His respect for the history of the sport and his loyalty to Chevrolet has really made me respect him alot. I think it will be a good move in the long run. I would imagine after he retires he will buy out the rest of the team and he will be set.

  22. I was sad to hear him leaving but he is still my favorite so I will support him wherever he goes. I wish him the best with haas. It will take getting used to him not being in the orange #20.

  23. It will take getting used to..But hes back in a Chevy which is awesome..Umm, I think its the right decision if he chose it. It must be what he wanted so w/e.

  24. I believe he thinks it was the best decision for him at the time.  It think it will all work out for the good.  Since he has such passsion for racing of all kinds, he will make it successful.  I sure hope he starts winning races soon.  He will take a little getting used to in the red #14, but it won't take long.  I am happy to see him back in a Chevy!

    go Jr.>>>>

  25. Sucks for Gibbs, and Tony he's wasting his money.
