West Coast got a $6,636,808 profit (12 months to October 31)

The rest got -

Hawks - $3.6m

Carlton - $2,940,000

Crows -$ 2,212,000

Pies - $2,027,000

Essendon - $2,014,000

Geelong - $1,870,000

Dockers - $1,539,000

Swans - $1,531,99-

Lions - $1,333,000

St Kilda - $1.1m

Richmond - $1,014,000

Port Adelaide - $927,626

Bulldogs - $534,214

Kangaroos - $100,000

  1. We have always been a financially viable club that's why the Vics lets us into the comp in the first place for the revenue they knew would come from WA.

If it was because we are a one team state why  would the Dockers be  the third interstate side on the list and not  Sydney or Brisbane.

Low rents what a laugh considering the price of real estate over in the West lately.

  2. Melbourne and the Roos don't have a mining boom like WA - all the WCE have to do is recycle Cousins's blood and they can get GAzillions for it!

  3. three aspects

not having to pay Judd and Cousins $1M

betting that Cousins would get done for whacky backy: $5m

low rental in Perth - price less!!!!!

they are a one team state - Freo is a joke - Andy D hands out money to interstaters like passes to night clubs!!!!.

No wonder they have so much spare money

Melbourne and the Roos have HUGE rates/rent/power bills - please note even Geelong had a profit and they are out in the stix.

Let the W**ker Carrion Egos manage without hand outs for a year or three and see how well they do...........

  4. itd be because we woulda made a lotta money in terms of membership and merchandise from the success of the 06 grand final win

  5. Yeah I saw that in todays paper!!

    Its big ayy.

Probably because of their membership numbers, but I dunno because there has been a waiting list for a while, so I would think they would have less people signing up.

Rogue Rage- I saw that article too. It was in the West Australian on Saturday. I do think that they are quite trustworthy in those stats. But the figures surprised me.

  6. It's because Cousins was selling drugs for them and giving them the profits LOL. Look I was in WA last year and everything is West Coast. Fremantle do not hardly rate a mention. Honestly they have as much football shown over there as we do in Victoria and it all is about the Eagles. With all the mining money and literally nothing to do there that is how they are getting that much profit. I mean a state that actively encourages finals friday I was in Subiaco with the birth of my son on that glorious evening Collingwood beat the eagles. But as I was walking through Subiaco to get to the hospital everything was closed except for the pubs and they were all out on the streets because if you didnt through a sickie your boss took you to the pub for the day. this started at about 9.00am.

So after seeing that the profit they got I believe is probably surprisingly low.

  7. West Coast are a very strong club

  8. A successful club with a captive audience.

  9. Could be that West Coast and Freo are the only 2 teams in WA. Not as many clubs in the one state means more more supporters for both clubs, and with WEST Coast being the original team the support base would be quite BIG

  10. Those figures are questionable to say the least (not underminding you just the newspaper that printed it).

Regardless of losing Cousins and Judd, WC Eagles have proven they can have a sucessful season without them - they did pretty well in '07 and im sure they will continue to finish in the top 8 (it kills me to say that!!).

They probably have the highest membership and only have to compete with one other club in their state for members and were well established before Freo came along.  The fact they have won quite a few premierships has a lot to do with it too.  Their supporters seem to be very loyal and not afraid to pump money into their club.

Kangaroos and Melbourne supporters should use WC Eagles as an example and save their teams!
