What do you think of a 14 yr old dating a 17 yr old or if they were just friends?

i just want to know if it would be bad in each case or if they were to just hang out . Is it too much of a difference and what if the girl was 16 and the guy was 19? Do guys think its weird and that they'd he'd be cradlerocking the girl?

Its not that weird. Just the fact that the 17 year wouldnt be able to date the 14 year old when he or she turned 18. So, I say age shouldnt matter. Love who you wanna love(:

LOL Theres not much difference at all between 14 and 17!!!! jeez! Only like 3 years difference!!!! Some 14 and 17 yr olds are actually in the same grade and some 14 year olds are actually more mature then 17 yr olds!!!! LOL don't worry about that!!!

naw, three years isnt a big age difference. buti do not think 17 and 14 is too good though. there is def no problem with 16 and 19 though, the maturity level of a 16 and 14 year old is diff

I don't think 14-year-olds should date.

It's a big age difference at that age.  Of course it's not as big of a difference later.  You're basically talking about someone new to highschool as opposed to someone about to graduate.  Someone who's just left elementary school as opposed to someone who could be off to university next year.

It's just not healthy.

Just hanging out and spending time together is one thing, but otherwise it gets more complicated. There's typically a maturity difference when you're talking about adolescent age differences. Besides that, anything sexual between the two of them would be illegal in some states, same with the 16 & 19-year-olds.

I don't see an issue in it. 16 and 19 is not bad at all. You guys can't have s*x but can date. I know a lot of people that are around 16-17 and date people over 18. It's not that big of a deal.

Friends can be of any age, even a senior, friendship goes a lot futher than just "hanging out" and can cross many barriers including age. If each care about the others well being, give comfort, advice, help, show concern and love, enjoy company, spend time together, etc then they would fit into the catagory of a friend reguardless of age.

    As for dating, a yr or two difference wouldn't much matter, unless one is under 18 and the other is over. The reason for laws against that is because those under 18 are  experienced at very little in life, nor do they know or understand when they are being pressured or manipulated, they believe any guy who says their in love with them, believe me it is so easy manipulate a younger person.

    It is also quite unusual for an 18 or 19 yr old to be interested in someone under 18 and when they are it's for one reason, because they can manipulate into s*x.

   If that weren't the reason, they could hang out with their little sister and cousins and you don't see them doing that do you.

in washington state the legal age of consent is 16 so 16-19 would be fine

if he is a perv he wont mind. it would probably be best to avoid older guys until u are older urself. that way u are both mature and know wat u want.
