What do you think of a Mum like this?

I work on a Children's farm and I was going around with food and water for the rabbits. I left the waterincan near a rabbit run whilest feeding a rabbit. The next miuntet I truned around and saw a child tiping water into a rabbit run. I said level it twice. This woman said I am his Aunt and his Mum's over there and he can do what he likes when he likes all the time. I thought she quit oberseley does not have any disaplin or control over this child. She is older them me (well looks it) but even so I thought to myself I could make a better Mum them her because if I saw my child doing that there is no way that I would let it carry on.

I don't really understand what this little boy did wrong. all he did was give the rabbit water right? and since you work there isn't it your responsibilty to make sure things like that don't happen. and if your aren't a mother then don't judge kids will be kids espically when they are having a good time.

It sounds like she's definitely not doing a good job of disciplining her child.

this is typical of todays parenting unfortunetly.  children are raised knowing they could do no wrong now.  then, children were raised to respect all adults as well as things.  example, ask a family elder what would have happened if when they were young, a teacher called his/her mother because of behavior issues in class?  more than likely the parent handled it and your family elder deeply regreted it when they got home from school.  modern times are much different, if a teacher calls the parent, the parent immediately goes on defensive mode saying THEIR child couldn't have done that because THEIR child never does anything wrong.  the parent continues to protect his/her child from the necessary punishments from the school.  the parent then calls the principal and the teacher gets reprimanded.  ask any teacher.

this of course doesn't go for all parents.  kudos to all of you out there who doesn't do this.  my mother was a little bit of both.  but i raise my children to know what is right and what is wrong and to respect persons, places, and things accordingly.  you are thinking in the right direction, keep paying attention to what to do and what not to do.

it's very easy to judge parenting style when you are on the out side. It's easy to say you could be a better mom when you aren't a mom.
