Brave Love

Written By Semper Fi Reborn

One human man meets a human woman

One is pink, one is brown

The human world treats it like taboo

An starts putting the humans down

Talking bout, "How you fall in love with him?'

Those people are this or that

Talking bout, "What do you see in her?"

She's probably just this or that

Just let those people talk

Just let your love grow

Just let the mouths of fools sqawk

Just let your love show

Some of the most beautiful kids I've seen

Don't come homes bigger than others

The most beautiful kids I've seen

Have parents of two different colors

Humans have a right to love humans

From the cradle to the grave

Don't let anyone put you down

If your love is brave

  1. Oh, I so love this poem and your great big heart.  I couldn't agree more.  It drives me nuts when people speak of people from other cultures like they were members of a different species altogether.   like Elaine said...something I've always said myself,  we are all members of the same race...the human race.  I completely agree with what your poem says...we have the right to love who we love.  Again, you are an inspiration.

As far as my boys are concerned, skin color is no different then hair or eye color and that inside we all look the same.

  2. Well put, as usual.

    One color I despise

    Heart covered black

    Yellow smile disguise

    A dagger 'n my back

Other than that, different colors just like different languages, they R proofs of God's abilities of creating such fast number of diversities. If we were all white or all black, with the same descriptions like clones, then some body 'd argue Gods ability to create different colors, languages, eye color, hair texture and so on.

Elaine P has said in few words what takes books to explain.

  3. you know. Thats not bad.

  4. There was a program on National Geographic last week.  A scientist who has been doing genetic testing of people from all over the world, looking for the genetic "Adam"  The man whose genes are still in every male today passed down from generation to generation, all over the world.  A forensic sculptor undertook to take this information and make a sculpted portrait of this once very alive and real man.  He looked a lot like you Semper.  We are all cousins, one family.  Bless you, my friend.

  5. You should so publish that! That was a job well done.

  6. Correct sir !!!  It boggles my mind that there are still those that are unaccepting.  You point out their ignorance and stupidity perfectly.   Well said Semper.

  7. You gave your poem the perfect name. It`s wonderful that your poems contain lessons. Poetic lessons for all to see.

  8. We could learn a lot from crayons. They have all learned to live together in the same box while painting beautiful pictures for all to see.

  9. I have said this many times: We all belong to the same race. It is called the Human Race. Minor differences are the result of our ancestors' locations. They needed to adapt to the climate in order to survive.

Earth is our only home. We are one people.

  10. 100% agree and a scale of 10 beers you get a keg.

From one old marine to another this is what it feels like for me to be an American.

I am loyal to myself and those similar to me, I support my country and have even offered my life in my past. I do not think any of us to be above the other. When in war I always had the greatest respect for those I fought against... why should I have less respect now?

Of religion, I take something positive from all religions, leave behind the negatives, and after careful thought discover myself, there are none I know like me so my only answer to define me is Spiritual, I am the opposite of Agnostic. But I do not detest them for they chose their own path with their own free will as God intended.

I live on earth, it is where I call home and I live with humans who are not always humane... I am of all races and all cultures. I lay no claim to any specific one.

You may think I don't know who I am... but it is the opposite. I've never been one to follow, I have always led. My roads have been new ones not the same tired old ground.

I think only of peace for all and realize to have it you have to fervently and endlessly pursue it.

I am an American, and I am more.

  11. There are some things that some people will never be able to cope with. For me, I've spent my life treating ALL women equally...
