Question:

What do you think of a pregnant second in command?

Sarah Palin wants to ban contraceptives and has spoken out against birth control. Being that she is only 44, she could become pregnant while in office (if it's God's will of course). I think that's kind of cool but want to know what others think of the possibility of a pregnant (vice)-president.

  1. Look out Washington

  2. i don't think it would be any different that having a pregnant first lady. pregnant women manage to do their jobs every day, so this wouldn't be any different.

  3. Anything can happen VP , and then Prez with twins running amuck in the white House..

  4. If Sarah Palin had had her daughter on birth control, maybe she soon wouldn't be a (grandma) vice president at 44.  If I am not mistaken, she has just had a baby, so why have another?  She apparently is having a tough enough time keeping up with what is going on in her own home and running Alaska, why on earth would she want another baby at her age and with her responsibilities as vice president?  Makes no sense to me.

  5. I think it would be irresponsible to be like if it's God's Will... I'm a Christian Republic with two kids and I am on birth control. The Lord gave me my own will and I never saw anything against birth control. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

  6. Being pregnant does not affect her knowledge and ability at all!

If she were to become with child, so what.  She can still do the job!

  7. I'm still wondering how she is going to deal with her last child and Downs syndrome. How does she think being the mother of a 4 month old child with Downs syndrome is so easy she can be Vice President (and possibly President ) also. She's got a big surprise ahead if she thinks being a mom of a child with that disability is easy, especially the younger years.  What is she going to do, get hired help? The baby will need her attention always, every minute. God bless it, this is really sad.

  8. Well they are trying to make history and not thinking of the American People.

Jackie Kennedy was pregnant, but she was in her 20's.

And didn't come out from behind the curtains, until later.

Maybe she'll want to set an example for all the older women at risk that have old eggs?

No offense to old people that want to get pregnant.

  9. Rather see Michelle Obama have Barack Jr.

  10. She certainly could.

This is an interesting double standard question. A male president (after all the VP is supposed to be able to step in and take full responsibility of the president so every VP candidate should be looked at as presidential material) could of course continue duties while his wife is in labor or a difficult pregnancy.  A female president if pregnant would have at least some off time. And it would be apparent when that venerable time would be, she   might be a security issue.

Now Palin apparently was flying in  the late stage of pregnancy which is not advised - and women over 40 are automatically high risk pregnancies as well.

Now I would think that perhaps at this stage she would consider her family complete but her views show this isn't the cases so  really it makes interesting debate.
