What do you think of armband tattoos?

Im interested in getting one? I really like the tribal look. What you think?

Everybody and their mom has one. Some of them, a small percent, look good. The rest of ridiculous. If you do get an armband, make sure to go all the way around your arm, don't wimp out and just get the outer part of the arm done.

Tattoos are (mostly) forever, and spiritual. Go with your heart, and don't listen to other people.

A lot of people have arm band tattoos. If they are designed well, they look great. You may want to have someone design one for you especially. That way no one will have the same one as you, and it will have special meaning to you.

and ive seen people with arm band like that. but then they gain weight and its not even an arm band anymore is like a line...so i dont like them i think there the worst

I don't like them. They do remind me of the 90s. When I was about 7 I had a bunch of stretchy plastic bracelets and necklaces that were supposed to look like tattoos bands, to copy the Spice Girls. I'm not a big fan of tribal tattoos, either. Personally I wouldn't get a tattoo that hadn't either stood the test of time or that wasn't my own creation. If you get an anchor, maybe it's overdone but at least it's been around for long enough that it doesn't scream one decade. Cartoon characters, fads like tribal, move references, band names or logos, goth inspired - that stuff looks tacky to me.

Ultimately it is your body so do what you want.  However, in my opinion, people get tribal because they don't know what else to get.  You obviously don't belong to any tribe.  I am not against armbands but I think that you should sit down with a tattoo artist and come up with something original and possibly meaningful to you for it.  Tribal is not very meaningful and so so so many people have it.  Tribal is past the point of over done. Again, your body so you should definitely do what makes you happy. Good Luck!

I would strongly advise not doing it..... I got one for my first tattoo (tribal and all) and I can't stand it and am in the process of trying to cover it up. It was cool when I was like 16 but now 7 tattoos later it feels and looks really juvenile. I would put a lot of though into and if that what you want to get....do it.

soooo 90's and sooo trashy looking. we called those the 'meth tattooes'' like the ones meth heads get while they're high and they turn out crappy.

get something more meaningful. people in the tattoo community usually frown upon armband tattoos AND tribal...

they're so mundane and overdone..
