Hindi sarap!! I try anything at least once. Tried balut in my landlady's Korean restaurant in Taipei and decided never again. It's not just the poor duckling, it was my poor stomach. (And don't say that I'm one of those sensitive foreigners - I did eat a dagá).

Not only Filipino know how to eat balut but also Vietnamese. Our people eat both chicken and duck's balut. I ate it when I was a kid when I was still back home. I don't eat it here any more. Every time I see people eat, it makes me puke when looking at it. It's so gross. I don't like it at all.

I have tried Balut once. Had a bite, chewed it up, but did not care much for the taste, and spit it out into a napkin. My wife is filipina, and she eats balut at least once a week. My son asked me the other day what balut was, and I explained what is was to him, he didn't really understand because he's so young, so I allowed him to see it on this website below.

Every country, has their certain foods which they enjoy very much, and some people in other countries may not care for the food very much. And that's find. I am Scottish, and there are a few foods which I eat which my wife would not dare eat.

i don't eat Balut....but i respect for the lover's of balut....they its good for the thin person....if u eat balut with beer oh.!...(ang sarap daw at nagpapataba)!hehhehe..at ang sabi nila good for (hmmmmmmmmm) diba tiffany?=)

I am not Philippino but I have been in the Philippines and have seen Balut. I think it is disgusting. I went with a group and they fed us alot of food. One of them was Balut. My leaders ate it and one could feel the beak and gave up. The other one ate most of it and then gave up. One of the girls, threw up. Gross.

balot is the thing that we eat and most foreinger says that it's disgusting but it really was nice. i want it with big chicks inside. i really wanted the taste. oh, i'm already missing it. sana may balot din d2 s jeddah!!!

There is also a place in manila somehow a boundary between tondo and navotas, that place is named balut. why? coz when i was still a child, palaging may sabaw dun... hahaha san k b nakakita ng balot na walang sabaw!!!

Yeah, they said it's healthy and an aphrodisiac. I've tried it once out of curiousity but just the soup from the balut and a li'l cooked egg yolk but I never tried the cooked li'l chick inside the balut. Yech! Sorry for those balut lovers but it's not just my kind of food.

I am not a filipina, but my daughter is mistisa--her father eats balut all of the time.  Makes me gag.  Yuck!  Yuck!  Yuck!  What amazes me is that he can eat that yucky balut, but he refuses to eat spaghetti.  I ask him why he won't eat delicious spaghetti--he says "Americans are crazy people!" and just keeps slurping on his yucky egg.  (smiling)

Balut? OMG, I hate that s**t! I'm Hawaiian/Filipino and grew up around that sort of cuisine.....yech! For those of you that don't know what Balut is, it's a semi-developed chicken embryo that's eaten as a delicacy in the Philippines and is also said to have qualities that will boost your libido. Christ, I'll stick to green M&M's.
