What do you think of cultures that eat dogs, cats, rats, snakes, horses, camels and insects

could it be that these eating habits originated because of the lack of food in those countries?

for example the lack of food in the desert made arabs to eat camel meat, where those animals were in large numbers.

Well...one's man lack of food is another's cuisine.....some probably think we're strange for eating cows or chickens....cajun cooking uses some interesting ingredients......hey, to me personally, eating clams is nasty! (lol)

I think it's all in the perspective of what you're raised in....

Lack of culture in France, where snails are not only eaten, but are a delicacy, as is shark fin in Japan, or in practically the whole of the westerrn world, with pig as the source of a major slice of the meat supply?

I'd put it down to tradition, rather than culture.

Humans eat what is avaliable. Just because it is not familiar to their pallet doesnt mean they cant, wouldnt or shouldnt eat it. The standards and perceptions for what is classed as food and acceptable for eating are based on what is avaliable in that society, individual likes and dislikes are set by the individual and influenced by cultural norms. If a human is hungry enough they will extend  their own standards of what they consider acceptable and ediable foods.

Ultimatly each human would eat whatever they had to to stay alive.

Not as little as I think of cultures that eat Pop Parts, Big Macs, Hot Pockets, margarine, Krispy Kreme donuts, and Olestra.

if its ok to eat other animals than why not the ones in question unless the is some reason not to, like maybe food poisoning.i dont think culture got anything to do with what we eat

yes, they seriously originated due to lack of food, ok i for one condemn this types of acts but then i am not this people, i dont know why they have been driven into this kinds of really foolish and really stupid acts like eating cats for example, that is what is sick in this world, people like this just have to exist for the sake of i dont know what.

I think they are probably resourceful. In some countries you have to eat what is available to you.

There are many cultures that eat things we might never even consider, but there are probably things that we eat that seem unthinkable to someone else.

I've read about children in other countries that were so hungry that they ate grass or leaves....when they could find it.   People do what they gotta do to survive.  And that's okay by me. Because that is life.

Culture should be respected, not criticized.

Its a matter of adopting, i do not have any opinion, but i do hate when people from certain culture criticize other culture purely because it is different to them.
