  1. It's not the double yellow lines I have a problem with, they are only in areas where there is absolutely no way you can park.

I think they need to be a little less strict about parking on single yellow lines though.

  2. There sure are!  In London it can be an absolute nightmare trying to find a non-lined, non-permit space.

The Council in their 'wisdom' painted loads of double yellows near me as I live a short hop from a Tube station. It was amusing the next day to see all the commuters in their cars, hurtling about, looks of panic on their face deserately trying to find a parking space.

  3. An excuse, so the slow drivers can drive more slower so impatient, fast drivers cannot overtake, but some really do.

  4. The only ones I think shouldn't be around, are the ones on traffic wardens hats - if they weren't there you could park on their heads!!!

  5. hate that so many picturesque villages high streets are ruined  by them, but in the big smoke, fair enough.  better than the red ones.

  6. No - I think there are too many cars around.

  7. No I don't.  There is a need for them so that traffic can flow easily.

  8. There is a good reason for most of the double yellow lines to ease congestion and prevent double parking etc, I just wish so many people would stop ignoring them and think the highway code doesn't apply to them.
